🍂🎃 OCTOBER ADVENTURES AT COCO’S!❤️

What a fabulous October we’ve had so far! 🥰 Here’s a little peek at what my little adventurers have been getting up to!

🧸 Lots of lovely playgroups and stay and play sessions
🎶 Our favourite Moo Music sessions at Little Moo’s Play Barn
📚 Storytime and rhyme time at the library
🌳 Trips to the parks and local shops
🍪 Biscuit decorating, musical time and lots of free play
🤟 Tiny Talk, learning BSL, practising Makaton and using our visuals
💬 Lots of focus on speech, communication, socialising and building those all important relationships!

🎃 We finished our week with the most fabulous trip to Over the Moon Pumpkin Patch in Ripley! The children loved petting the animals, making conker caterpillars, getting messy with paints and digging for dinosaur bones and skulls! 🦴🐛🎨

Every day is filled with fun, learning and new experiences, and I am SO proud of every little milestone my mindees achieve. 🥹❤️ Watching their confidence grow, seeing them learn new skills and celebrating all those little moments is what it’s all about!

I honestly have the BEST JOB IN THE WORLD!🥰🌈

🌟 SHARING ISN’T AUTOMATIC IT’S A SKILL WE TEACH!🌟

One of the things we’ve been practising a LOT at Coco’s Adventures Childminding lately is turn taking especially with our little ones aged 1–2 years. 🥰

At this age, children don’t automatically understand sharing. And that’s OK! ❤️

It’s not that they don’t want to share… they simply haven’t learnt what sharing means yet.

Instead of repeatedly saying:

❌ “No, don’t snatch!”
❌ “You have to share!”

We can show them what to DO instead. 👇

✨ “It’s your turn, then it will be their turn.”
✨ “Let’s wait together.”
✨ “When they’re finished, you can have a go.”
✨ Or, if emotions are getting big, we can redirect them towards another activity.

Turn taking is something we practise, model and teach.🧠💛

And just look at these little ones waiting patiently for their turn on the slide! 🛝🥹

They’re only little, but these everyday moments are HUGE learning opportunities.

Their brains are developing at an incredible rate, and the way we respond to these moments helps them begin to understand:

🤝 Kindness
⏳ Patience
💛 Empathy
🔄 Turn-taking
🗣️ Communication
🧠 Managing emotions

We’re not expecting toddlers to behave like school children we’re giving them the tools to eventually become them.

These small moments of practice, repeated again and again, help build the foundations for becoming confident, kind and school ready little people.🌈

So next time your toddler grabs the toy, pushes in, or struggles to wait…

Remember: they’re not being “naughty”. They’re learning.

And our job is to show them how.❤️

📚❤️ Little Books, BIG Benefits!❤️📚

Reading from an early age helps little ones develop their language, vocabulary, imagination, concentration and understanding of emotions all while having fun! 🌈

At Coco’s Adventures Childminding, we have story time every single day📖🥰 and we’re currently getting all my little mindees their very own library cards!🎉📚

Every week, the children also get to choose a special book from our book shelf to take home and enjoy with their families.🏡❤️

They LOVE bringing their book back on a Monday, putting it back on the shelf and choosing a brand-new story for the week!📚✨

With regular library adventures, daily story time and our little take-home book tradition, we’re making reading fun, exciting and something to look forward to!🥰

🌟Little readers today, big imaginations tomorrow!🌟

Good evening to all my wonderful followers and families🫶🏻

I just wanted to share a link this evening to help families to understand more about screen time and being safe in the internet for little ones.

By accessing this link it will take you to a wide range of fantastic advice and tools on all different parenting advice.
(Please go and check it out, the tips and studies on there are so helpful and informative.)

I would also fully recommend only allowing supervised screen time especially if your little ones are accessing apps like YouTube.
These following websites and apps have educational content appropriate for early years children if you want to try them;

CBeebies Little Learners app: Free games and video activities
Teach Your Monster: Free games to teach children reading, number skills and adventurous eating
Cosmic Kids Yoga: Free yoga videos for children, turning screen time into physical activity

Please try these out and let me know of any feedback you may have and if you found them useful.

Thank you for taking time to read this and trying new ways of screen time and keeping our little ones safe during use too.
It’s also really important to speak to our children about keeping safe whilst using technology and the internet.

🌈 Simple activity, BIG learning! 🌈

Today at Coco’s Adventures Childminders, we turned a simple colour jumping game into so much more! 🦶✨

As the children jumped from spot to spot, they named the colours, practised turn taking, listened to and encouraged their peers, and explored a different texture on every sensory floor spot.

All that from one simple activity! 🤩

🍂✨ And just like that… we’re back!✨🍂

Our first full academic year at Coco’s Adventures Childminding has started, and what an amazing start we’ve had! 🥰

The children have been settling into our brand new steel building playroom beautifully, enjoying lots of fun, learning and adventures along the way! 🏡💛

🌳 Walks & local park adventures
🛍️ Trips to the shops
🎉 Jo Jingles at Freddy’s Play Kingdom
🎨 Autumn crafts & bringing a little autumn magic into our new playroom 🍁

It’s honestly been so lovely welcoming back all those wonderful little smiles and seeing everyone settle back into our routines so beautifully. 🥹❤️

You little ones make my job a dream!🌈✨

✨🐒 WHAT A FINAL WEEK OF SUMMER! 🐒✨

What a way to finish our summer holidays at Coco’s Adventures! 🥰 We’ve packed so many incredible experiences and learning opportunities into one week! 🌈

🦁 We started with an amazing day at Twycross Zoo
✈️ Then had the fantastic opportunity to explore the history of Rolls-Royce with a tour around their Heritage Education Centre!
🧲 We got creative with magnet tiles & Jenga blocks,seeing the children use them in so many imaginative ways!
🛝 Enjoyed some fun at play centres… and even embraced those BIG summer rainstorms! 🌧️😂
🐒 And finished the week with another fantastic adventure at Monkey Forest!

So many memories, experiences, exploration and learning all packed into one final week! ❤️

And now…I’m OFF for a week!🙌🏼 I’ll be focusing on our BIG building project and hopefully getting our brand-new Coco’s Adventures space finished and ready for us to move into before we return on Monday 7th September!🏡✨

Eeeek, how exciting! 😍 I’ll try my best to keep you all updated with some sneak peeks of the build along the way! 👀🔨
