Today, whilst many families are celebrating Father's Day, we also take a moment to think of those for whom today may feel a little more difficult.

We remember the fathers who are no longer with us but remain forever loved, missed, and remembered. We think of the families carrying their memories and cherishing the moments they shared.

We also hold in our thoughts the fathers who have experienced the unimaginable loss of a child. Days such as today can bring a mixture of emotions, memories, and heartache.

Whether you are celebrating, remembering, grieving, or simply getting through the day as best you can, please know that you are not alone.

Sending love and strength to all those who may find today difficult 🩶

Recent headlines regarding a cremation advert being banned for misleading claims serve as an important reminder of something we strongly believe in at Martin Trask & Family Funeral Directors: families deserve clear, honest, and accurate information when making funeral decisions.

Every family has the right to understand all of their options, the services available to them, and exactly what is included. Whether choosing a direct cremation, attended cremation, or a traditional funeral service, informed choices can only be made when information is presented openly and transparently.

As an independent family funeral director, we are committed to providing straightforward advice, answering questions honestly, and helping families make decisions that are right for them—without pressure and without confusion.

Because at one of life's most difficult times, trust, transparency, and compassion matter more than ever.

We completely agree with this 🩶

Many families initially consider one option, but once they understand the differences and talk things through, they often realise there are more choices available than they first thought.

There is no right or wrong decision—only what feels right for you and your loved one.

At Martin Trask & Family Funeral Directors, we are here to offer guidance, honest advice, and support every step of the way, helping families make informed decisions without pressure.

🩶 A Gentle Reminder 🩶

We wanted to remind our community that we have a selection of children’s grief and bereavement books available to borrow.

When a child experiences the loss of somebody they love, it can be an incredibly confusing and emotional time. Sometimes finding the right words can feel difficult, both for children and the adults supporting them.

These specially written books offer gentle explanations around loss, whilst providing comfort, reassurance, hope, and encouragement during difficult times.

If you know a child who may benefit from one, please feel free to pop in and borrow a copy anytime. No appointment needed—our door is always open.

We are here to guide and support you through every step, explaining options clearly, answering any questions you may have, and helping you make decisions at a pace that feels right for you and your family.

You are never alone during this process—sometimes all it takes is one phone call to begin receiving the support you need 🩶

Mental Health Awareness Week
Monday 11th May - Sunday 17th May

Working within funeral care, we see every day how grief, loss, stress, and the pressures of life can affect people in ways that are often hidden behind a brave face.

Mental health matters at every stage of life, and it’s important to remember that struggling doesn’t always look obvious. Sometimes the people checking on everyone else are the ones needing support themselves.

This week is a reminder to be kind, check in with one another, and never underestimate the power of a simple conversation.

If you are grieving, feeling overwhelmed, or simply not feeling yourself, please know you do not have to carry it alone.

Sometimes all someone needs is a listening ear, a cup of tea, and to know that somebody cares.

Be gentle with yourself and with others 🩶
