Here’s a rabbit hole for you, I suggest you read this slowly!

In all this woman had 10 children. Now for the first six (born between 1867–1877) their father’s name turned out to have been made up on the marriage certificates.

In 1881 there’s a 2 year old daughter who just happens to have the same surname as the lodger. Woman marries the lodger, has two more daughters in 1883 and 1885. Lodger dies in 1885.

Now in 1901 there’s an 11 year old son registered with the same surname as the lodger yet he was born four years after the lodger died!

Yes 10 children, at least three different fathers… My head hurts!!

So the sun is setting on another year. Think it fair to say 2024 didn’t start terribly great but it sure ended a lot better! I think I definitely have a better appreciation for how genealogy really is my therapy!

So may the new year be kind and why don’t we see what adventure 2025 brings. I think it’ll be good! 😊

My grandfather was a very special figure in my life and I’d actually planned to blog about him last year when he would have been 90. For some reason the words just weren’t coming together. Well I think it long overdue that I wrote something about the man, the myth, the legend!

I’d originally planned this blog post last year when Granda would have been 90 but the words just weren’t coming together. To be fair there really couldn’t be any words that would befit such as gentleman.
