Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors is an independent, 3rd generation, family owned business with over 50 years experience in caring for the bereaved and their families in Derry and across the wider Northwest. Originally established by friends Charlie Bradley and Denis McLaughlin, the business was then taken on by Charlie's sons, John and Alex. Following John's death in 2017, Alex's s

on, Charles, rejoined him within the business to take over running the business. In addition to Alex and Charles, the team at Bradley & McLaughlin have many years combined experience in the funeral industry - Denis McLaughlin (Denis' son), Charlie McLaughlin, Joe Parke, Kieran Dunne and Paul Farren. Kathryn SLATER

Kathryn Slater – Passed away peacefully at her home on 27th July 2026.

Beloved wife of Greg, devoted and much-loved mother of Millie, cherished daughter of Philomena and Willie, and dearly loved sister of Joanne, Patrick, Colin and Seamus.

Kathryn will be sadly missed and lovingly remembered by her loving family, extended family, friends and all who had the privilege of knowing her.

The Funeral Mass for Mrs Kathryn Slater, of Wembley, will be celebrated in St Joseph's Catholic Church, 3 Salvado Road, Subiaco, commencing at 3.30 pm on Thursday, 13th August 2026. A private cremation will follow.

A Mass will also be celebrated in Kathryn's memory in Derry, Ireland. Details will be announced in due course.

DENNIS (née Carson), 6th August 2026, peacefully at her home 30 Drumleck Gardens, LILY, loving mother of Andrew, dear mother-in-law to Adriani, devoted granny of Adam, Marcus and Sarah-Louise, beloved daughter of the late Martha and Patrick (Phonsie) Carson, cherished sister of Patrick and Neil and a loving aunt to her nieces and nephews. Loved and will be sadly missed by the wider family circle, friends and neighbours.

Lily will be reposing at her home on Thursday 6th August from 3:00 p.m.to 9:00 p.m. and Friday from 11:00 a.m. to 9:00 p.m.

Funeral leaving her home on Saturday 8th August at 9:20 a.m. to Our Lady Of Lourdes Church, Steelstown for Requiem Mass at 10:00 a.m. Interment afterwards in the City Cemetery.

ACKNOWLEDGEMENT / MONTH'S MIND MASS

The family of the late Eileen McCourt, 18 Little Diamond, would like to express our sincere thanks and appreciation for all the kindness, support and sympathy we received during our recent bereavement. Our heartfelt gratitude is extended to everyone who called at the house, sent Mass cards, flowers and messages of sympathy. It was a great source of comfort for us to receive such support from our family, friends, neighbours and wider community during this very difficult time.

We wish to thank all the family and friends who visited Eileen at home, in Altnagelvin Hospital and in the Foyle Hospice throughout her illness. Your presence, prayers and support meant so much to Eileen and to all our family.

A special word of thanks is extended to Fr Paul Farren, Fr Shaun Doherty and Fr Colum Clerkin of St Eugene's Cathedral for their visits to Eileen at home, in hospital and in the Foyle Hospice, which brought her great comfort, peace and spiritual support during her illness.

We are truly grateful to all those who cared for Eileen at home, especially her carers, district nurses, palliative care nurses and the ambulance staff who assisted in bringing her to the Foyle Hospice. We also wish to thank the staff, nurses and doctors of Ward 41, Altnagelvin Hospital, for their care and attention. Our deepest gratitude is extended to the staff, nurses and doctors of the Foyle Hospice for the exceptional care, compassion and dignity shown to Eileen and to our family during her final days. Your kindness will never be forgotten.

We would also like to thank everyone who provided food and refreshments during the wake, especially Kevin Daly and Collon Take Away. We are particularly grateful to Eileen, Jacqueline, and Ann for their invaluable help and support throughout the wake, and to Pilots Row for their assistance with the preparations.

Our sincere thanks to Fr Farren for the beautiful Requiem Mass and for his warm and comforting words about Eileen. Thanks also to everyone who participated in the liturgy through the readings, Prayers of the Faithful and Offertory Procession. A special word of thanks to Anne-Marie Hickey for her beautiful singing, which greatly enhanced the Mass.

We wish to thank Bradley & McLaughlin Funeral Directors for the professional, caring and dignified way they carried out the funeral arrangements.

As it is impossible to thank everyone individually, we trust this acknowledgement will be accepted as a token of our sincere appreciation and gratitude. The Holy Sacrifice of the Mass will be offered for your intentions.

Our Lady of Lourdes, St Anthony and Sister Clare, pray for Eileen.

Eileen's Month's Mind Mass will be celebrated on Friday 7th August 2026 at 7.30pm in St Eugene's Cathedral, Derry.

McMAHON, 1st. August 2026, peacefully at Altnagelvin Hospital, MICHAEL, beloved son of Margaruite and Damian, loving brother of Steven, Emma, Jane, Damian and the late Peter Pio. Loved and will be sadly missed by his nephews, nieces and the wider family circle.

Michael will be reposing at his mother’s home 93 Carnhill on Monday 3rd August from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. and Tuesday from 12:00 noon to 9:00 p.m.
