Hello everyone! 👋

I wanted to share a little update…
A few months ago, I made the move from Devon/Somerset to beautiful Wiltshire, just outside Malmesbury! 🏡

The funny thing is… many of my lovely clients probably haven’t even noticed! 😊 That’s because I’m still travelling back down to Devon and Somerset three days a week, so it’s very much business as usual for all of my existing clients.

I also want to say a huge hello and thank you to all of my new Wiltshire clients. It’s been so lovely meeting you all, and I’m excited to continue building my client base here while still looking after everyone down south.

I’m so grateful that my business allows me to work across both areas, and I can’t wait to see what 2026 has in store. It’s shaping up to be an exciting year, and I’m looking forward to welcoming even more new faces while continuing to support all of my amazing clients.
Thank you all for your continued support—it truly means the world. 💛

Here’s to an exciting rest of 2026! ✨

⚠️ Hard ground warning ⚠️

The recent extended period of dry weather has really caused the ground to harden up. Are you aware of the risks of riding on hard ground?

🐎 Exercising your horse on hard ground can cause concussion-related lameness issues. When the horse’s hoof meets the ground, it’s subjected to a great deal of concussive force.

When the ground is softer, it absorbs some of the impact and provides cushioning to the foot - but the harder the ground, the less force is absorbed and the more stress on the horse.

It’s not only ridden horses who are at risk of concussive injuries from hard ground - any retired oldies who like to show you they’ve still got it by galloping round their paddock can also do themselves some damage! If this sounds like your horse, consider bringing them in a little earlier than usual.

Shod horses are also at greater risk from hard ground than unshod horses, as unshod horses actually absorb some of the concussive forces through their frogs.

Hard ground can cause injuries like:
🔵 Jarring injuries
⚪️ Tendon and ligament injuries
🔵 Bruised soles
⚪️ Splints
🔵 Concussive laminitis
⚪️ Pedal bone fractures

You can reduce the risk by:
🔵 Trying not to work your horse on hard ground too often
⚪️ Choosing softer surfaces for jumping where possible
🔵 Apply cold water after hard work
⚪️ Maintain your horse’s overall fitness/strength
🔵 Listen to your individual horse

Before & After: A Freak Hacking Accident (and a Really Happy Outcome)

It’s been a while since I shared a before-and-after, but this boy gave me the perfect opportunity to post.

After a freak accident out hacking, this horse’s owner got in touch to make sure everything was truly OK before getting back in the saddle—and I’m so glad she did.

Case Summary
What happened: Out hacking, he reared, spun, and ended up with his front half in a hedge.
The scary bit: His front legs became stuck on rails hidden within the hedge, but he scrambled and managed to free himself.
Vet check: The vet examined him and—remarkably—he was essentially unscathed.
Owner’s goal: Even with a reassuring vet check, she wanted him properly assessed before riding again.

Assessment
Gait: Sound on assessment.
Body: Very stiff through his back (exactly the kind of thing that can linger after an incident, even when they look “fine”).

Treatment & Result
Treatment included: Chiropractic adjustments to restore comfortable movement.
Soft tissue work: Targeted massage to ease tension and support recovery.
Myofascial release: To help address restriction through the topline and improve overall flexibility.

Outcome — The result was excellent: noticeably freer through his back and much more comfortable in himself.

Takeaway
Accidents happen in a split second—but the effects can be subtle and easy to miss at first.
Even when a horse seems to come out of it unbelievably well, it’s always worth checking them thoroughly after an accident for peace of mind and long-term soundness.

He is now continuing his fitness work ready to start the hunt season which is his favourite activity! 👏🏻💞

I’m often asked what types of horses do I see routinely and my answer is always I have a variety day to day! No two days are the same my job which is great! 😁

Across a single day, the caseload reflects the breadth of equine work- with my role supporting performance, recovery, comfort, and long-term soundness.

Yesterdays case mix captured a wide range of needs and disciplines, including:
* A SI rehab case
* Continued laser treatment for a racehorse stifle injury
* Icelandic pony assessed and referred back to the vet
* An event horse with a recent decrease in performance
* ROR struggling with left canter
* show jumper decrease in performance
* ex polo pony maintenance check

What this shows:
* Variety is the norm — In one day my day can move seamlessly between rehabilitation support and performance-focused assessment, across multiple disciplines and types of horses.
* Specialist care is highly individual — Even when cases sound similar on paper, the approach is shaped by the horse in front of me:their job, history, dynamic assessment, and the realistic goals for the weeks ahead.

Grateful for a day that showcased the real range of my practice —supporting every horse appropriately, whatever their discipline, stage, or starting point. ❤️

Who else would love to be Ellie right now? 🙋🏻‍♀️

She absolutely loves her regular treatments, and they help keep her in great shape for all the activities she now enjoys since leaving racing 🐎
Her body has gone through alot of changes since finishing racing with the different type of work and her treatments involving chiropractic adjustments, laser therapy and soft tissue massage have helped keep her soft, supple and happy in her work ❤️

Today I attended a fabulous CPD conference event held by . Lots of interesting new chiro research was presented including topics on horses, dogs, ewes and rabbits! 😁
It’s also a great time to reconnect with fellow therapists as we all work on our own day to day ☺️

*Now FULL*
Last-minute openings! 👏🏻 Be quick, these appointments won't last long!
I've got some flexibility end of May and June, so message me to book.
Due to high petrol prices 😭, I'm trying to optimise my routes, so flexibility on timing or advance booking would be a huge help. 🙏🏻
