🚴‍♂️🚴 It's Cycle to Work Day! 🚴‍♂️🚴
Whether you're a regular two-wheeled commuter or thinking about giving it a go, it's a great reminder for all of us - drivers included - to look out for cyclists on the roads.
A little extra care goes a long way.

Are you cycling in today?

(Oh, and if you need a portable, little First Aid Kit for on your bike, give me a shout: I can point you in the right direction!)

💔Did you know that when CPR and defibrillation happen within the first 3–5 minutes of a cardiac arrest, survival rates can reach as high as 50–70%.
Without fast intervention, that figure drops to under 1 in 10.

A defibrillator on your premises, with the right training in place, could be the difference for a colleague, a customer, or a member of the public.

August is National Wellness Month, a great excuse to check in on how your team (and you!) are really doing.

Running a small business often means wellbeing gets pushed to the bottom of the list.
A few small things that help:
✅proper breaks away from screens
✅a five-minute walk between meetings
✅and simply asking your team how they're doing (and meaning it).

What's one thing you do to look after your own wellbeing at work?
(And remember, we offer Mental Health First Aid courses if your team need a little support: https://rglsafety.co.uk/training/ )

Across Europe, hands-on CPR training is a routine part of learning to drive, but in the UK this is not yet the case.

While CPR and defibrillator questions were added to the theory test last year, we believe there is an opportunity to go further.

That's why we've created a set of template letters to help you contact your local decision‑maker and call for CPR training to be included as part of the practical driving test.

This simple change could help ensure every new driver has the skills to help save a life: action.resus.org.uk/cpr-training-new-drivers

✒️ From September 2026, allergy safety in schools is changing. Benedict's Law, new statutory guidance named in memory of Benedict Blythe, will require every school in England to have a whole-school allergy policy, ensure staff receive anaphylaxis training and hold spare adrenaline auto-injectors (AAIs) on site.

It's a significant shift from best practice to legal requirement and with the new school year just weeks away, now's the time for schools, nurseries and childcare settings to check where they stand.

We'll be sharing more on what this means in practice over the coming weeks.
Meantime, find our blog on preparing for it, with a handy checklist, here: https://rglsafety.co.uk/benedicts-law-are-you-ready/

Did you know that bystander CPR and early defibrillation in those first few minutes can make the difference between life and death - even before an ambulance arrives?

This International Paramedics Day, here's something paramedics want you to know: you don't have to be a paramedic to save a life. 💙

If your workplace, club, or community space doesn't have a defibrillator yet, today's a good day to ask why not.
Get in touch to find out more about getting one in place before the year's out. 🚑

Today is International Paramedics Day, so we wanted to share with you what every paramedic wishes more people understood.

Here are the top three:
1. Someone having chest pains? Don't hesitate - call 999 immediately
2. Learn to recognise the signs of a stroke - and, again, call 999 immediately
3. Ensure your house number is visible on a dark, rainy night; make it clear where you are!

Seconds can save lives...

RGL Founder Robert has spent years on the front line before moving into training others to respond with confidence in an emergency. If you or your team would like to feel more prepared, get in touch to find out about our courses.

Did you know? 🚑
International Paramedics Day (tomorrow - 8th July) marks the birthday of Dominique-Jean Larrey - a French military surgeon often called the "father of modern ambulance services." He pioneered fast battlefield casualty care as part of Napoleon’s Grand Armée over 200 years ago.

Celebrating the day itself is much newer - launched in 2022 by the Royal College of Paramedics - but it's grown fast and is now marked by paramedic organisations across the world.

Tomorrow, we’ll be joining with colleagues to celebrate – and to say a huge thank you to paramedics everywhere for the skill, calm and care they bring to some of the worst moments of people's lives. 💙
