Another wonderful trip out to one of our many delightful garden centres — always a favourite with our residents who love to browse, shop and enjoy a little treat.

From colourful plants to cosy home décor, there was plenty to explore and even more to chat about. These small outings bring such joy, offering independence, choice and a lovely change of scenery for everyone. ✨

I am super excited to introduce our new beautiful Pets As Therapy dog. Bailey! 🎉❤️ Bailey popped in briefly this evening to meet some of the residents and get a feel for the place. And as far as we are concerned he passed with flying colours❤️. Welcome to Valerian Court Bailey and his lovely owner Niamh 🐾🐾🐾

🍕🇮🇹 A huge thank you to the lovely Gemma for coming along and singing some lovely Italian songs, as well as our favourites for us on Friday, providing the perfect ending to a fantastic day!
Our residents had a wonderful time making their own pizzas, embracing the Italian theme, and then enjoying some delicious gelato. 🍨 The singing, smiles, laughter, and tasty treats made for a truly memorable day for everyone.

Your wish is our command!
This morning’s chat about the eclipse turned into a spontaneous balcony adventure. Armed with white paper and a trusty piece of card, our residents gathered to safely view the spectacle together.

Our last trip until September 😭
But what a beautiful afternoon it was on the Thames in Wallingford.

Why is there a photograph of our Betty next to a little boat house? Because it isn’t just any boat house — it’s Agatha Christie’s boat house, right beside where Betty once lived as her neighbour. A lovely moment of personal history meeting local heritage.

Along the river, residents enjoyed watching ducklings, swans and cormorants, with Iris and her friend taking in the peaceful views (not pictured). Another wonderful afternoon spent outdoors, sharing memories, nature and companionship ❤️

Huge birthday wishes to our Colin, who celebrated his birthday in style today with a lovely lunch out with his family and came back home to this amazing cake.
His face says it all❤️🤣

Residents gathered in the Bistro for our Monday planning session, choosing how they wanted their week to look. Esmee selected our weekly bake, and everyone voted to spend Thursday morning relaxing on the roof terrace with music and a cuppa.
We also enjoyed live music from our very own Julia, plus a boat trip and a cycle outing — all chosen by our residents themselves.

We wrapped our Commonwealth Games in true Valerian Court style — with giggles, teamwork, and a very unusual sporting invention.

To celebrate Team England’s Men’s 3’s Basketball Gold, we created our own trouser ball… and let’s just say the creativity was off the charts. Plenty of laughs, plenty of “unique techniques”, and a whole lot of joy bouncing around the home.

A golden moment for a golden win.
