From Thames Water

We’re continuing to face challenges from wet weather over the next few days. Our teams are working hard on site to manage the impacts and maintain services wherever possible. We’re closely monitoring conditions and adjusting our response as needed.

Following several weeks of rainfall, the ground is now saturated and unable to absorb much more water. This means any further heavy or intense rain is more likely to run off surfaces, overwhelm drainage systems, and increase the risk of flooding.

You can find safety guidance from the Met Office here: Stay safe in thunderstorms and flooding

Please make sure you get the right help if needed. Here’s a list of emergency contacts:

Highway flooding: To report flooding from roads, gullies or ditches, please contact your local highway authority.

Land drainage or groundwater flooding: If water is running off nearby land or seeping up through the ground, please contact your local council.

River flooding: If a river has burst its banks, please contact the Environment Agency on 0800 80 70 60.

Sewer flooding: If you’re experiencing flooding from sewers, such as water backing up through toilets or manholes, please report it to us here. You can also check if Thames Water is your sewerage services.

We’re sorry for any disruption or concern this situation may cause and appreciate your understanding while we work to manage the impacts.
