If you’re visiting us over the next few weeks, please allow 𝐞𝐱𝐭𝐫𝐚 𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞 for your journey.

There are temporary traffic lights and ongoing roadworks at the 𝗖𝗮𝗿𝗱𝗶𝗳𝗳 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 / 𝗠𝘂𝗿𝗰𝗵 𝗥𝗼𝗮𝗱 𝗷𝘂𝗻𝗰𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻, which are causing significant delays. Unfortunately, we’ve already had several patients arrive late or miss their appointments due to traffic.

To help keep your appointment running smoothly, we’d really appreciate it if you could leave a little earlier than usual.

Thank you for your patience and understanding while the work is being carried out. We look forward to seeing you soon!

✨Technique of the Week✨

Acupuncture/Dry Needling

Dry needling is a technique where a trained healthcare provider inserts thin needles into the muscles to target myofascial trigger points (muscle knots). It is used to relieve musculoskeletal pain, reduce tension, and improve mobility.

It promotes blood flow and triggers the release of endorphins (the body’s natural painkillers).

It is frequently used as part of a broader treatment plan to treat:
* Neck, back, and shoulder pain
* Headaches
* Muscle strains and spasms
* TMJ (jaw pain)

Most patients feel minimal discomfort during insertion, though a deep muscle ache or a brief cramping sensation is common when the needle hits the trigger point.

(Available in the Dinas Powys clinic only)

Blocks!

Chiropractic blocks are wedge-shaped tools used as a gentle, low-force technique to realign the pelvis and spine without forceful cracking. By placing these blocks under a patient’s pelvis while they lie down, gravity and body weight act as a natural force to reduce pain, relax muscles, and alleviate pressure on nerves and discs.

These blocks are ideal for patients preferring a gentle approach to treatment.

Patients usually lie on the blocks for couple of minutes to allow the joints and muscles to relax comfortably.

It’s a bit of a touchy subject — so let’s talk about it 👇🏼

Some people expect one appointment to fix everything.
But your body isn’t a light switch💡

When chiropractors recommend a series of visits, it’s not about selling more care — it’s about how the body actually adapts.

Nothing in your system rewires from a single input.
Not muscles.
Not movement patterns.
Not habits.
Not healing.

Your nervous system changes through repetition and feedback 🧠

Each visit adds another signal, helping your brain refine how it moves, stabilises, and responds to stress.

Real progress isn’t one perfect adjustment.
It’s consistent input that builds better patterns over time 📈

That’s why good chiropractic care is built around adaptation, training, and progression — not quick fixes.

If you’ve ever wondered why consistency matters more than intensity, this is why.

Eleven laps. One incredible effort. 💪🔥

Huge shoutout to Hannah for taking on the Medieval Backyard Ultra yesterday at Cosmeston Lakes — a seriously tough endurance event where runners complete a 4.167-mile loop every hour, on the hour, for as long as they can.

11 laps is a solid achievement and a real reflection of the work she’s put in.

All that training paid off 👏

Proud of you,

Meg x

CTJ spinal manipulation!

CTJ stands for Cervicothoracic Joint. This joint is made up of the C7 and T1 vertebrae and located at the base of the neck/top of the upper back. It’s a common area for pain!

A small, quick thrust is applied to the area which can often cause a cracking or popping sound.

This technique helps to reduce pain and stiffness in the neck, upper back and shoulders. It also has a beneficial effect on headaches and migraines.

⭐Technique of the Week!⭐

Table Drops!

A chiropractic drop uses the table/bench to provide a precise and gentle adjustment to the spine and joints.

By raising the lower half of the bench at the waist slightly (approximately 1.5cm), a quick thrust can be applied to the spine or joint.

This causes the bench to make a banging 💥sound but despite the noise it’s actually a very gentle and comfortable technique!
