Some of the people living with us have truly enjoyed the hot, sunny weather we have had in the past couple of days.

From ice creams to sunbathing, or simply having meaningful conversations under the shade, our team has gone above and beyond to make sure that not only are people safe, but also entertained! 🙂

As part of our "celebrating cultures" programme, we celebrated a summer day around Greece, famous for its beautiful beaches, culture, and gastronomic diversity.

Head chef Sarah hosted a themed lunch which included lamb kofta served with horiatiki, feta stuffed mushrooms, mediterranean grilled vegetables, and Greek yogurt-based cheesecake for dessert.

Everyone also took the opportunity to spend the afternoon in the garden enjoying drinks, and ice creams in the sunshine! ☀️

Over the weekend the team at Bowerfield Court hosted its annual Summer Fair, this time with a Carnival/ Circus themed party which started with a 2-table tombola including over 140 items, a cake stall with a variety of desserts all baked by our hospitality team member Marie Nadin, a Photo Booth managed by balloon modeller Kathy who entertained the public specially children with some fantastic balloon shapes, music, fun fair games in the garden, and of course our biggest hit of the day the raffle with 10 beautiful hampers filled with exclusive treats and spirits.

All of those living with us had a fun-tastic time with a full house, and sunny bright day, therefore we couldn't pass the opportunity to thank all family/ team members who donated to our raffle/tombola stations as well as our special helpers and hosts Jo Burgess, Genesi, Jane, Simi, Anna, Tony, Marie, Evie, and Martha...We are delighted to share that with everyone's support we have raised a total of £681.80 in just 2 hours designated to our lifestyle fundraising pot!

Over the weekend some of those living with us had a fantastic time joining in the lounge for a morning of puzzles...This was a perfect time to build connections, and promote social interaction also, puzzles are a great tool to improve memory, lower stress, and boost brain health 🧩💚

Some of those living with us visited the lounge to join our weekly Arts & Crafts club hosted by the lifestyle team. Everyone had a fun-tastic time assembling and painting bird houses for the lovely feathered creatures who come and visit the garden grounds every day. Each one was done in a very unique, and personalised way from painting them blue, red, orange or simply adding stickers.

Andy spent a lovely afternoon at the Red Lion pub celebrating his birthday accompanied by friends Charles, and Brian who live with us at Bowerfield Court as well as Graham, from House. All enjoyed some refreshing drinks, and to make the occasion more special Andy's cousins popped by to share a drink with us!

This month we had a lovely service delivered by Rev. Lynn from St. Thoma's Church in high lane, some of those living with us visited the lounge for a morning of holly readings and communion. We would like to thank our local church for keeping up our community links and supporting our people's beliefs and religion.

Janet celebrated her 80th Birthday in style...For this special occasion a party was hosted by the Bowerfield Court Team, as Janet is a cat lover who also enjoys nature the theme had to be pink, flowers and Cats all around. Janet also, chose the food she wanted to have for the buffet including her birthday cake flavour which was a chocolate sponge with chocolate cream, 80s music in the background and non-secco to share with all her beloved friends. Martin, one of the gentleman who lives with us joined in the celebrations as he shares the same date with Janet, making it extra special 💗
