🎉 Open Care Home Day at Bowerfield Court 🎉
What a fantastic day we had welcoming families, friends, neighbours, and members of our local community to Bowerfield Court for our Open Care Home Day!
The celebrations began with a fabulous rock & roll performance from the talented Jayne, who had everyone singing along and showing off their best dance moves. 🎶💃🕺
Guests enjoyed a guided tour of our home, including our bedrooms, communal spaces, and beautiful garden. We also showcased our More... Programme, giving visitors an insight into the resources and activities that help us create meaningful lifestyle experiences for the people living with us.
Afterwards, everyone gathered in the dining room to enjoy delicious pastries and hot refreshments prepared by our wonderful Head Chef, Sarah. ☕🥐
A huge thank you to everyone who joined us and helped make the day so special. We'd also like to give a special mention to our Regional Lifestyle Manager, Simi, and the entire Bowerfield Court team for their hard work and support in making the event such a success.
💙 It was a pleasure to open our doors and share what makes Bowerfield Court such a warm and welcoming place to live.

Last week we had our quarterly Myley Trip and some of the gentleman living with us accompanied by Lifestyle lead Genesi, and Regional lifestyle manager Simi as well as our neighbour friends from Bowerfield House. The trip started with a drive through Manchester City Centre followed by a tour at the Manchester Science & Industry museum.

At the museum we had the opportunity to explore the city's rich legacy of scientific, innovation, engineering, and the industrial revolution. Brian Heaps, Brian Gore, and Andy Davies had a phenomenal time looking around some of the best historic attractions such as the steam-powered engines that drove Manchester's textile industry, experiment and textiles gallery, the world's first stored-program computer, and even the oldest surviving passenger railway station.

This was an amazing experience for everyone, bringing special memories back, and social connections. We would like to thank all of those who supported the team including Myley Driver Mark who always goes above and beyond whilst out in the community!

This week at our Arts & Crafts club we had a morning session of Aquapainting and portraits colouring. Some of those living with us truly enjoyed exploring new skills whilst reminiscing over past hobbies, listening to jazz music in the background and drinking some delicious coffees made with much love by our hospitality team! ☕️🎨

Something truly special happened at Bowerfield Court recently 🐾💛

As part of an inspiring intergenerational programme, we welcomed children from Adlington Primary School for a day full of laughter, connection, and unforgettable moments. From sharing stories and singing together to playing games, it was a joy to see generations come together so naturally ✨

The highlight? Our adorable animal visitors! Residents and children alike got hands-on with a gentle bearded dragon 🦎, cuddly guinea pigs 🐹, and the tiniest harvest mice, sparking curiosity, smiles, and plenty of conversation.

This wonderful experience, made possible through the support of Cheshire East Council and Inspiring Animal Therapy, showed just how powerful these shared moments can be in bringing people together and boosting wellbeing 💛

A huge thank you to everyone who made this day so magical, it’s one we won’t forget anytime soon!

Bowerfield Court recently hosted a Mexican fiesta to celebrate “5 de Mayo” a holiday which commemorates Mexico’s victory at the battle of Puebla and often celebrated all around the world.

To mark this occasion, Lifestyle lead Genesi planned a day filled with fun activities starting from a wheelchair travel to Mexico and it’s remarkable archaeological sites specially dedicated to those cared for in bed, followed by a live dancing session performed by Mexican Colibri a group of dancers originally from Mexico and based in Manchester who are known for wearing colourful traditional costumes, using rhythmic footwork called zapateado.

For lunch Head Chef Sarah Cooked a delicious Mexican Meal consisting of enchiladas en salsa roja served with tortilla chips, a vegetables bake, and tres leches cake. In the afternoon, some of the poeple living with us gathered to play games such as cactus ring toss and loteria!

Some of the gentleman living with us had an amazing time coming out to see this fantastic car, a Lomax Citroen special from the 1970s owned by the husband of one of the ladies currently living with us.

They all enjoyed learning things about the engine, spotting old classic parts such as the leather strap luggage carrier and the tax disc as well as the well-preserved seats and wheels. We couldn't miss the opportunity to capture this special moment in pictures we will keep on our lifestyle 2026 booklet!

Pauline has turned 90 over the weekend and to celebrate such special day the team had an all-day party for her starting with a pampering session in which she had her hair styled ready for the occasion, followed by a live concert performed by Jayne who sang some of the most famous songs from 80s hits to even western music, then everyone gathered together to sing happy birthday with a delicious cake matching her outfit, cowboy hats and pom-poms.

In the afternoon, our hospitality team put together a buffet with a variety of dishes being served from a chill selection consisting of salads, sandwiches, and entrées as well as hot station with homemade burgers, chips, chicken curry, rice, naan, and a desserts table. Pauline had the best time and was accompanied by all her friends from the home and family members; she also received many cards and flowers!

Happy birthday Pauline 🎂💓🌸

This month Bowerfield Court celebrated St. George’s Day as part of MMCG “Celebrating cultures” programme, a day which is recognised as England’s national day, admired for his bravery, the patron saint of England has captivated British imaginations since the Crusades and the Hundred Years’ War.

To mark this remarkable occasion lifestyle lead Genesi hosted a morning of st. George’s themed Wordsearch competition between those living with us supported by members of our team. This activity brought everyone together helping improve pattern recognition and visual scanning abilities. Head chef Sarah then prepared a delicious brunch a traditional English meal consisting of baked beans, eggs, hash browns, tomatoes, mushrooms, and black pudding!
