September is Su***de Prevention Month

As we enter Su***de Prevention Month, please take a moment to think about those around you who may be struggling or who may be in need of support.

Rosedale Funeral Home, in partnership with Hope After Su***de Loss, is proud to support dedicated groups for people who have been bereaved by su***de.

These groups provide a welcoming, caring space where people can come together with others who truly understand.

Our Community Ambassador, Lucy Coote, facilitates two monthly groups:
Harleston Support Group
Harleston Community Centre, Wilderness Lane
Every second Monday, 5.30–7pm
Lucy: 07753 299925

Lowestoft Support Group
Colville House, School Road, Lowestoft, Suffolk, NR33 9NB
Every first Tuesday, 7–9pm
Lucy: 07753 299925

You can also visit your local Rosedale Funeral Home branch or contact Lucy for more information.

You don’t have to face grief alone.
Sometimes, the right support at the right time can save a life. Please don’t be alone, come and spend time with people who understand, listen and care.

If you know someone who may benefit from these groups, please share this with them.

Like so many people, we were saddened to hear this evening that Dolly Parton has died at the age of 80.

She will be remembered for an extraordinary career spanning more than sixty years, but also for her humour and generosity, including the millions of books given to children through her Imagination Library.

Working in the funeral service, we see every day how important music can be when someone dies. Sometimes a song manages to express something that we struggle to find the words to say ourselves.

One that feels particularly poignant tonight is “When I Get Where I’m Going” Dolly’s beautiful duet with Brad Paisley. The song talks about leaving behind the struggles of this life and the hope of seeing those we love again.

Dolly once spoke about how much the song meant to her after it was played at the funeral of one of her own friends, describing it as one of the best songs she had ever had the good fortune to sing.

Rest in peace, Dolly Parton. 🤍

Come Dine With Me, a wonderful evening of food, fun and fundraising for Waveney Shims.

Rosedale recently hosted our annual Come Dine With Me fundraising evening, raising an incredible £5,196.00 🤩 for our 2026 charity, Waveney Shims.💚

We were absolutely overwhelmed by the generosity and support shown by our local community. 🥰

A huge thank you to everyone volunteered and gave their time, our guests who bought tickets and auction lots, those who donated auction prizes, Edward Taxil-Webber of TW Gaze Auctioneers who led the evening and for capturing the event.

Be sure to keep an eye on our website for details of more exciting events and fundraising activities planned for later this year, including a Line Dancing Night and a Dinner Dance!

Auction donors: John Doe of Diss, Ovamill, Ian Hale, David Baker, Beccles Lido, Big Dog Ferry, Beccles, Natalie & Roy Carthew, Lucy & John Winter, Waveney House Hotel, Harris & James, Durrants Estate Agents, The Olive Tree in Kirby Cane, Discovery Tutors, Philippa Drew, Southwold Cycle Hire, Petra Howe, Vicky Russ, Stewart Lee, Lyn Oakes and Fosters Solicitors

🐕Pupdate! 🐕

We've recently been informed that one of our three sponsered puppies, Dale, has sadly been withdrawn from his training programme because he is too sensitive.

Unfortunantly we dont have a recent picure of Dale, but how can that face be any cuter!

The good news is, Dale now needs a new home, if you are interested in giving Dale a forever home, please register your interest on the Guide Dogs UK website:

Kerry from our Diss office popped up and took part in some Line Dancing demonstrations at De Lucy House last week. It was lovely to see people joining in and having a go, and even some chair dancing going on! 🤠💃🕺
