📞 Our phone lines are currently very busy

We are currently experiencing a high volume of calls due to Flu and COVID vaccination bookings.

If you have received a text message from the practice containing a booking link, please use the link to book your appointment where possible, rather than calling the surgery.

This will help keep our phone lines available for patients who need to contact us about other health concerns.

Thank you for your patience and understanding. 💙

Let’s keep our little ones safe and healthy as they prepare for their next big adventure - starting school! 🎒

The 4-in-1 pre-school booster vaccine is a crucial step in keeping your child protected against serious diseases like diphtheria, tetanus, whooping cough, and polio.

Typically given to children aged 3 years and 4 months, this booster ensures long-lasting immunity before they start school. It’s a quick and effective way to safeguard their health as they grow.

If your child is due for their 4-in-1 booster, make sure to schedule their appointment by getting in touch with your GP Practice.

👉 If you're aged 17 or 18 or starting university this autumn, you may be eligible for the MenB vaccine!

A new NHS vaccination programme is offering eligible young people protection against meningococcal B (MenB) disease before they start university or residential further education for the first time this autumn.

Getting vaccinated before the start of term helps provide the best protection as young people begin mixing with new groups of people. Two doses are essential for protection.

For more information about eligibility criteria and to book an appointment, please visit:

📢 A quick message for our patients

Some patients are currently receiving letters from NHS England asking them to confirm their home address.

These letters are genuine and are part of an NHS England process to help keep patient records up to date, ensuring people receive important NHS information such as screening invitations, vaccination reminders and other healthcare communications.

If you receive one of these letters, please complete it and return it following the instructions provided.

⚠️ Please be aware of scams. NHS England will never ask you for your bank account or payment details as part of this process. If you receive a message, email or phone call asking for financial information or payment, do not respond.

Please note that this process is being managed by NHS England, not your GP practice. We are receiving a high number of telephone calls about these letters, but unfortunately we are unable to complete the form or answer queries about it.

Thank you for your understanding and for helping to keep our telephone lines free for patients who need medical assistance.

📞 June Telephone Performance Update 📊

Thank you for your patience and understanding while contacting the practice. We know getting through to us is important, and we’re always looking for ways to improve our service.

Here’s how we performed during June:

📞 596 calls answered each week (on average)

🌅 184 calls answered within the first hour of opening each week

⏱️ Average wait time: 7 minutes

🕘 Average wait time during the first hour: 9 minutes

The first hour of the morning is our busiest time, which is why wait times are slightly longer. If your enquiry is not urgent, calling later in the morning or during the afternoon may mean you get through more quickly.

Thank you for your continued support and for being patient with our team as we work hard to answer every call and help everyone who needs us. 💙

☀️ Heatwave Alert – Stay Safe This Week ☀️

Hot weather can affect anyone, but older adults, young children, pregnant women, and people with long-term health conditions are most at risk.

💧 Stay safe by:
• Drinking plenty of water
• Staying out of the sun between 11am–3pm
• Wearing loose, light clothing
• Keeping your home cool
• Checking on vulnerable family, friends and neighbours

⚠️ Signs of heat exhaustion:
• Dizziness or feeling faint
• Headache
• Excessive sweating
• Feeling sick
• Muscle cramps
• Fast breathing or heartbeat

➡️ If someone has heat exhaustion, move them to a cool place, give them water and cool their skin. They should start to feel better within 30 minutes.

🚨 Call 999 immediately if someone becomes confused, has a seizure, loses consciousness, stops sweating despite being very hot, or does not improve after 30 minutes. These may be signs of heatstroke.

📞 Contact your GP practice or NHS 111 if you are concerned about symptoms, dehydration, or the effects of the heat on an existing health condition.

Stay cool, stay hydrated and look after one another. ❤️
