We're proud to support Colin, Lucy and Jamie as they begin their Trainee Advanced Clinical Practitioner (ACP) journey in Doncaster.

Over the next few years, they'll continue developing their clinical knowledge and skills through a Master's-level programme that combines advanced practice, leadership, education and research.

That's the feedback received from one clinician following Faith Taylor's first independent shift as a Receptionist at Doncaster Urgent Treatment Centre.

What started as Faith's first solo shift quickly became a challenging day for the service, with increased demand and medical emergencies requiring the attention of clinical teams.

These actions are a fantastic example of the professionalism, compassion and dedication demonstrated by colleagues across FCMS every day. 💙

🌞 Staying safe in the heat 🌞

Hot weather can increase the risk of dehydration, overheating, heat exhaustion and heatstroke. Take a few simple steps to keep yourself and others safe:

💧 Drink plenty of fluids
🏠 Keep your home cool by closing curtains and blinds during the day
🌳 Stay in the shade, especially between 11am and 3pm
👕 Wear light, loose-fitting clothing and a hat
🚿 Cool down with a cool shower or by splashing your skin with cool water
👀 Check in on older relatives, neighbours and anyone who may be more vulnerable to the heat

If you or someone else becomes unwell in hot weather, be aware of the signs of heat exhaustion and heatstroke and seek help if needed.

FREE Wheelchair Skills Course 🆓

This free course is designed for wheelchair users of all abilities, from beginners to those looking to build confidence and refine more advanced skills. Sessions are led by trainers with lived experience of using a wheelchair and provide a supportive, practical environment focused on independence and safety.

Participants will have the opportunity to develop essential skills, including:

• Effective pushing techniques
• Manoeuvring in tight spaces
• Navigating doors and everyday environments
• Managing slopes, steps, and challenging terrain
