Five years of Emma! 🥳👏

This month we had not one, but two very good reasons to celebrate our brilliant Emma.

Firstly, August marks five years since she joined Doncaster Foot Clinic ,and she’s been a firm favourite with our patients pretty much from day one.

But she’s also recently passed her Musculoskeletal Ultrasound PgCert, following 12 months of studying, travelling to Brunel and Edinburgh for learning, mentoring and exams, and putting a huge amount of work into developing her skills!!

And because apparently she doesn’t fancy taking it easy anytime soon…😂

In January, Emma will begin another PgCert in ultrasound-guided injection therapy for the foot and ankle 👣

We’re incredibly proud of everything Emma has achieved and the dedication she continues to put into becoming an even better clinician.

Five years down, another qualification smashed, and plenty more to come.

Congratulations, Emma! 🥂👣

A familiar face back at Doncaster Foot Clinic 👋

We recently had a visit from our former podiatrist, Jordan, who left the clinic back in 2024 for a new adventure working as a podiatrist in Singapore 🇸🇬

Two years later, he’s back in the UK, but sadly not for long! In a couple of weeks, Jordan and his girlfriend Rochelle are heading off again, this time to Melbourne, Australia, where he’ll be continuing his podiatry career. 🇦🇺

Jordan was a firm favourite with our patients during his time at Doncaster Foot Clinic, so it was brilliant for the team to have him back in clinic and properly catch up.

We’re not remotely jealous of the Australian sunshine… honest.

Wishing Jordan and Rochelle loads of luck with the move and their next adventure! 🦶💙

A fantastic day for Jamie representing Doncaster Foot Clinic at the annual Doncaster Rovers Golf Day ⛳️

The event was held at Wheatley Golf Club, bringing together club partners for a four-ball alongside a Doncaster Rovers player.

Jamie had striker Alfie May on his team, who was brilliant company and a proper laugh throughout the day.

Also joining the four-ball were Sam Cresswell from Clear Insurance Management and Andy Singleton from Active Fusion.

Great weather, great company and a really enjoyable day supporting the club and catching up with other local businesses and partners.

And yes, somehow we managed to survive 28° heat on a golf course. 😂

Thanks to Doncaster Rovers and Wheatley Golf Club for a brilliant day!

Foot pain isn’t always something we can diagnose from the outside. If there’s no obvious swelling, deformity - or your symptoms kind of overlap with other things

At Doncaster Foot Clinic, diagnostic MSK ultrasound can be used as part of your assessment to look beneath the surface at structures including tendons, ligaments, muscles, joints and soft tissue.

It means that, where appropriate, one of our team will gather more information there and then in clinic, helping to build a clearer picture of what may be causing your pain and what the next steps should be.

Uncomfortable for ages…gone in around five minutes ⏱️

This patient spends most days in steel toe-capped work boots and the constant pressure and friction had led to a substantial build-up of hard skin/callus on her toe.

It had been bothering her for a long time, but during one appointment we were able to safely remove the excess callus in around five minutes, giving her much more comfort almost immediately.

Of course, removing the hard skin is only part of the picture. If the same pressure keeps occurring, it can build up again, so we’ll also look at why it’s forming and what can be done to reduce that pressure going forward.

If you’ve got a painful patch of hard skin you’ve been putting up with for months, it might be a much simpler fix than you think.
