AMAZING GALA NIGHT!!

Well done to the Doncaster Chamber team and the wonderful staff of Bawtry Hall! Last night was a great Women’s event and the food was top notch!

We heard from several inspiring business women from different backgrounds, industries and experiences. They shared advice and insights with us and encouraged us all!

The conversations and networking were also top notch! A chance to catch up with previous acquaintances and to make lots of new business connections.

BAWTRY FESTIVAL!!

The Bawtry Festival starts today and runs for the next two weeks. There will be loads of artsy events across the town.

I am NOT very artsy at all! 🤪 Shalom isn’t taking part actively with an event but I’d like to encourage my lovely clients to check out some of the great events going on. Get involved if you can!

A LITTLE ADDITION……..

I’ve gotten a little addition out front of Shalom Holistic! A new bench to sit on. (And it was saved from landfill so good for the environment too!)

So now if the weather is nice, and you need to wait for your lift you have somewhere to sit and rest in the sunshine! ☀️

Just one more little touch to my lovely space. I’m planning to freshen it up soon so will post an update when I do. 🤗👣💆🏻‍♀️🕊️

One year ago today!! How time flies!

I LOVE Shalom’s new home. Absolutely no regrets about moving.

In honour of ‘Aromatherapy Awareness Week’ I’d like to review my most recent book purchase!

“The Natural Approach to the Poisons” by Jane Lawson. Jane is my long time teacher/mentor/ colleague and friend!! She is an absolute wealth of knowledge about all things aromatherapy based.

When we say poison we thing of hemlock and deadly nightshade. ☠️ However Jane looks at some common essential oils that people may use often such as cinnamon, ginger, citronella and lemongrass. She explains why they have more contraindications than benefits!

The book also explains about some that are often confused such as eucalyptus citradora as the least safe eucalyptus. Bay which isn’t as safe as bay laurel and sweet birch being dangerous as opposed to tar birch. Often people thing they are the same and purchase the wrong one!

The book is summed up for me in the quote “They were so preoccupied with whether or not they could, they never stopped to think if they should!” Just because it’s been made into an essential oil doesn’t mean it’s safe to use.

This is a valuable book for every aromatherapist as well as enthusiastic home users too!

Spent yesterday morning with some great people from South Yorkshire’s business community! dnchamber hosted the local chambers (Sheffield, Barnsley & Bassetlaw) to a netwalking event in the grounds of the AMAZING Yorkshire Wildlife Park!

We were treated to a little breakfast (and the centre arranged some lovely fresh fruit for me with the awkward diet!)

Then we headed out in groups to see some of the wonderful animals while chatting with other business owners and making connections!

The rain held off just long enough to keep us from getting soaked! It was a fabulous morning!

WELCOME JUNE!!

Shalom has changed to its summer wreath on the door and some new decorations around inside to welcome summer! (Although it has already felt decidedly SUMMERY for the past week! 🥵)

We have some flowers, playful rabbits and little birds hanging around. 🌸🐇🐦‍⬛ The door wreath is a riot of colorful flowers this time. 💐

NEW PRODUCT!!

For those who prefer a bracelet to a necklace I’ve gotten a couple of aromatherapy bracelets in stock.

I’ve gotten just a couple of these bracelets in as a trial to see how popular they are. They come with a selection of different coloured felt inserts so they are quite flexible.

They are £12 each or £15 with a vial of oils to use on them. Give me a shout or have a look when you come for your next treatment.
