Ist day on the job!!
Since Hatfield House joined our C2 community just a few months ago, this is my first visit as Wellness Co-ordinator, supporting the home with their activity provision and promoting Anchor's Year of Culture.
What a beautiful home with so many areas of interest for residents to talk about, share stories and enjoy. I have spoken with residents and staff and sampled lunch, sadly the steak and ale pie was a firm favourite and had all gone but the vegetable lasagna was delicious 😋 my husband would have devoured the bread and butter pudding!! Chef, I need the recipe.
I look forward to spending more time at Hatfield House and getting to know everyone.

A huge thank you to our local MP, Lee Pitcher, for joining us on our sponsored walk! 👏🚶‍♂️

As you can see, Lee came along to support us and has given us a great deal of support throughout our efforts. It meant a lot to have him there walking alongside us and showing his encouragement for our cause.

🎉🚶‍♀️ WE DID IT! 🚶‍♂️🎉

After a long day of walking, we have finally completed our sponsored walk! 👣❤️

We’ve made it all the way to Woolmarket in Doncaster town centre, and we couldn’t be prouder of everyone who took part.

A massive thank you to everyone who has donated, supported us, cheered us on and followed our journey throughout the day. Your generosity and encouragement have meant so much to us. ❤️

A huge shout-out to all the amazing staff at Hatfield House who took on the challenge and completed the walk — what an incredible achievement! You should all be so proud of yourselves. 👏💪

A special thank you to Lee Pitcher, our local MP, for joining us along the way, buying us all a much-needed drink to keep us fuelled, and for all the support he has shown us today. It was greatly appreciated! 🙌

We’d also like to say a big thank you to all the pubs and venues who welcomed us in today and allowed us to stop along the route. Your kindness and hospitality helped make the day even more enjoyable! 🍻👏

🐾❤️ And finally, a MASSIVE, MASSIVE thank you to Rosh and Dee Dee, our wonderful therapy dog team from Therapy Dogs Nationwide, who have completed the entire walk alongside us! They have been absolute superstars, bringing smiles and keeping us company every step of the way. 🐶🐾

We’re continuing our sponsored walk to Hatfield House, and we’ve had some fantastic support along the way! 👏

A day filled with laughter, creativity and connection at Topphome Court 💜

Residents enjoyed a special Wellness Day with therapy dogs, creative activities, gentle exercise, seated football and plenty of opportunities to chat and spend time together.

Resident Julie Hull summed it up perfectly:

“Nobody knows what someone is going through and this type of day makes a huge difference.”

It was lovely to see residents from Topphome Court and nearby Fernlea Lodge come together for a day with something for everyone.

Earlier this month, we celebrated Arts in Care Homes Day a national campaign by the National Activity Providers Association (NAPA). The campaign shines a light on the creativity, talent and imagination of people living in our care homes.

Across Anchor, residents have been getting creative in all sorts of ways – from painting, poetry and pottery to soap making, digital art and handmade wreaths.

At Sandholme Fold, resident Margaret created a beautiful piece of diamond artwork, while Geoff at The Manor House Harrogate has been sharing poetry with friends.

Residents at Moore Place explored digital art through Stories that Connect Us, while colleagues at Gills Top joined residents for soap making.

At The Firs, therapeutic art has provided another way for residents to express themselves, while at Blackbrook House, residents visited Flatford to see the work of artist John Constable.

We’ve also seen creativity bringing people together, with residents at Silver Court making welcome cards and residents at The Manor House Knaresborough creating autumnal wreaths to raise money for Happy Wanderers Ambulance Service.

These are just a few examples of the creativity happening across our care homes. Art can provide opportunities to express yourself, share experiences, connect with others and continue doing the things you enjoy.

We’re proud to celebrate the creativity of our residents – and the colleagues who help make these opportunities possible.

🌟 A Helping Hand from Patsy 🌟

This morning, our lovely resident Patsy was keen to lend a helping hand and assisted our housekeeping team by helping to push the towel trolley around the home. 🧺💜

Small acts of kindness like these help create a wonderful sense of purpose, teamwork, and community within Orchard Gardens. Patsy was delighted to get involved, and our housekeeping team certainly appreciated the extra support! 😊

Thank you, Patsy, for starting the day with such a positive attitude and for showing that every contribution, no matter how small, can make a difference. ⭐

Starting from Hatfield House which is part of Anchor, and our staff will be walking all the way to Doncaster Town Centre dressed in fancy dress as elderly ladies and gentlemen! 👵👴🎭 Expect plenty of laughs, smiles, and maybe even a few surprises along the way!

🏡 Hatfield House is a non-profit organisation, meaning every penny raised goes directly back into supporting and enhancing the lives of the residents who call Hatfield House home.

🎄✨ Our goal is to raise funds to make Christmas 2026 a truly magical and memorable one for our residents. From festive entertainment and special activities to gifts, treats, and celebrations, every donation will help create precious moments and lasting memories.
