Day 2 completed. We revisited basic moves and the treatment of secondary Leg Lymphoedema....more chatting...a brief talk by Haddenham Health on compression and more chatting..maybe I should say discussion 😀

All set for another two years....and im very proud to be a Dr Vodder MLD therapist.

Day 1 complete of my Dr Vodder review. It was great meeting up with other therapists that I did my original training with in Austria 20 years ago.

Today we re looked at MLD for Lymphoedema in the arm and bandaging...head and neck pathways.
Checking hand pressure and technique... phew busy busy...and lots of chatting in between.
looking forward to Day 2.

Currently there is no treatment for Lipoedema or Lymphoedema available within the NHS. We believe we need more funding for training and for more specialists in all parts of the country, along with the treatments such as liposuction to be funded on the NHS

I will be out of clinic next week, Tuesday 8th and Wednesday 9th September. As a Dr.Vodder Level 3 MLD practitioner i will attending my 2 yearly review. This means my training is up todate and that you know when you book an appointment with the Alexandra Clinic you are in safe hands.

Those aren't our words. They're the words of a breast surgeon who noticed a difference in the recovery of patients receiving scar therapy from Restore Therapy-trained practitioner Cathryn Bishop and other students of scar tissue massage education.

The surgeon told Cathryn:
“I can tell which patients have been for scar therapy; they generally have better mobility and are more confident.”

And this is exactly why specialist scar therapy matters.

Cathryn's journey into oncology scar therapy began after her own cancer experience. Following her Oncology Scar Specialist training with Restore Therapy, scar therapy has gone on to become the majority of her practice, supporting people recovering from breast cancer surgery and other cancer-related procedures.

Her work has now been recognised by her local NHS breast care team, leading to an invitation to speak to the oncology breast care multidisciplinary team about the role of scar therapy in post-surgical recovery.

The Doncaster Lymphoedema & Lipoedema Support Groups upcoming meet is on Monday 7th September.
Meeting from 1- 3pm at St John's Information Centre, Tickhill Rd Hospital, Balby.

Come along and share a cuppa in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere. Whether you have Lymphoedema or Lipoedema, or you may be a family member supporting someone with these conditions, all are welcome.

Its an opportunity to ask any questions from our Lymphoedema Practitioner and support from other members.
