Peripheral Arterial Disease (PAD) occurs when narrowed arteries reduce blood flow to the legs and feet. It often goes unnoticed, but PAD can be an important warning sign of wider cardiovascular disease.

At Total Foot Health Doncaster, our vascular screening assessments check for reduced circulation by evaluating:
• Pulses and circulation to the feet
• Blood pressure measurements in the arms and ankles (ABPI)
• Toe pressures where appropriate
• Skin colour, temperature, and capillary refill
• Symptoms such as leg pain or aching when walking

Early recognition matters. Catching PAD early allows us to refer you to your GP or vascular services to manage cardiovascular risk factors like high blood pressure, raised cholesterol, smoking, and diabetes. This helps lower the risk of serious complications like heart attack and stroke, while protecting circulation to your legs and feet.
