🎃 Halloween at Dunniwood Lodge 🎃

Dunniwood Lodge is getting into the Halloween spirit. Our residents and team have been busy decorating, and the home is looking fantastic. We'd love for you to join us for our Halloween party!

Evelynn had a great time helping Lynn and Laura put up our Halloween decorations. Her face lit up as soon when the spider-lights were switched on, and she told us how pretty they were. It's the little moments like these that mean the most. 🧡

We had a wonderful afternoon craft shopping. 🛍️

We headed out to The Range and Hobbycraft to stock up on craft supplies for our "Brrrrr Month", and of course we couldn't go home without stopping for lunch.

It was a lovely day out together, with plenty of browsing, chatting and ideas for the crafts we'll be making over the coming weeks.

Our residents really enjoyed having Gemma and Kat join us, and everyone is already looking forward to more trips out with them soon

Love was in the air today! 💕

Our Home Manager Gemma married Cory at Gretna Green and although we couldn't be there in person, our residents were determined to celebrate with her.

Out came the dresses, suits and prettiest fascinators for a wedding buffet tea, with the lovely Mike Johns singing for us in the afternoon.

It was wonderful when residents FaceTimed Gemma as she got ready. Seeing her with her hair done, glowing and happy, and being able to send our love before she walked down the aisle was really special.

Gemma, you care for us every day, so today was all about you. Wishing you and Cory a lifetime of happiness. ❤️

Strike! A bowling trip to remember. 🎳

Barbara, Christine and Mary enjoyed an evening of ten pin bowling and dinner, joined by Lee and Wellbeing Lead Laura. There was plenty of chat and laughs all evening and Barbara came out on top and took the win.

Our minibus is rarely parked for long, and the next outing is already in the diary; Mary and Christine are eyeing up a rematch!

Every week our residents read through the team's match reports over a coffee. After reading about the team's resilience in their last game, they predicted a 2-1 win for the next one. Sprotbrough did even better and won 4-0!

We're looking forward to welcoming the players to our home soon, when they'll be bringing a signed shirt for our residents.

We had a wonderful day out at Abbey House Museum in Leeds, exploring the Victorian streets and shops. 🏛️

It was full of fun and laughter from start to finish. Our residents thanked the team for a lovely day and said they would love to go back. They were already thinking of friends at home who would enjoy it next time.

Mary and Dianna asked for the balloon and bat exercise when John from G Fitness came for his monthly visit. 🎈

It's one of their favourites, and before long our small group was moving and laughing together. These are residents who don't often join in, so it meant a lot to see them getting stuck in. The team joined in too, cheering everyone on.

Donna Bell had the whole room singing along within her first song this afternoon. 🎶

We cleared a space for dancing and it barely emptied all afternoon, with residents and the team taking turns on the floor. There was plenty of laughter too, especially when a few old favourites had everyone remembering the words better than expected.
