❤️💙 EVERYONE DESERVES SOMEWHERE TO FEEL SAFE, INCLUDED AND TO BELONG. 💙❤️

Following the heartbreaking tragedy recently reported at Yorkshire Wildlife Park, our thoughts are with the gentleman involved, his family, everyone affected and those who witnessed such a devastating incident. ❤️

While the full circumstances have not been officially confirmed, there has been speculation surrounding the individual’s additional needs and whether he was attending with care staff. We do not wish to speculate or make assumptions about what happened.

However, this heartbreaking news has made us reflect on something we feel incredibly passionate about at Phab Doncaster.

💙 THE IMPORTANCE OF SAFE, ACCESSIBLE AND INCLUSIVE PLACES WITHIN OUR COMMUNITY.

For many individuals with severe learning disabilities, complex physical disabilities, autism, additional needs or behaviours that can challenge, accessing everyday activities and social opportunities isn’t always straightforward.

For some families and carers, even planning a day out can bring worry and anxiety.

Will the environment be suitable?
Will their needs be understood?
Will they be welcomed?
Will there be accessible facilities?
Will their carers feel confident taking them?
Will they be able to participate just like everybody else?

❤️ THIS IS EXACTLY WHY WE DO WHAT WE DO!

Our Monday and Tuesday Phab Doncaster Social Club sessions are about so much more than simply providing activities.

They are about creating somewhere that:

💙 Carers and support staff feel confident bringing the individuals they support.

❤️ Parents, families and appointees can feel reassured that their loved ones are attending an environment where their needs are understood and respected.

💙 Individuals with profound and multiple learning disabilities (PMLD), severe learning disabilities, complex medical needs, physical disabilities and behaviours that challenge are welcomed, not excluded.

❤️ Activities are adapted to suit individual abilities, rather than expecting individuals to fit into activities.

💙 People with and without disabilities can socialise, build friendships, experience new opportunities and feel part of their community.

❤️ Individuals are given opportunities to thrive, achieve and experience things they may never have had the chance to do before.

Nobody should be excluded because their needs are considered too complex.

At Phab Doncaster, everyone attends with their own carers or support team, allowing individuals to receive the personal support they need while enjoying our inclusive activities and experiences.

We understand that everyone’s needs are different, and we work alongside families, carers and support teams to make our sessions as accessible and welcoming as possible.

We know there are individuals across Doncaster who are isolated, who rarely get the opportunity to socialise, or whose carers struggle to find suitable places to take them.

We want to reach those people!

We want to give new individuals, families and care teams the opportunity to come along, meet us, experience our sessions and see what Phab Doncaster is all about.

💙 Whether you support someone with profound disabilities, complex needs, autism, behaviours that challenge, or someone who simply needs more social opportunities, we would love to hear from you.

We’re so happy to be holding our very first Mini Phab Doncaster session! A cosy, inclusive Halloween afternoon for little ones aged from birth to 18 months, with baby massage, yoga, play and autumn fun.

Thanks to some amazing funding, we are delighted to be able to offer these fantastic sessions COMPLETELY FREE OF CHARGE! 🎉

We want as many individuals and families as possible to benefit from these wonderful opportunities.

⚠️ IMPORTANT BOOKING INFORMATION – PLEASE READ ⚠️

💗 PLEASE CANCEL IF YOU CAN NO LONGER ATTEND

If you book a place and can no longer attend, please cancel your booking as soon as possible.

Many of our sessions have limited spaces and waiting lists. By cancelling, you are giving someone else the opportunity to attend.

🚫 REPEATED NON-ATTENDANCE

Unfortunately, we have experienced situations where people book free places but do not attend or cancel.

As demand is so high and places are limited, anyone who repeatedly books free sessions and fails to attend without cancelling may be restricted from booking future sessions.

We really don’t want to introduce restrictions, but we need to make sure our funded places are being used and that everyone has a fair opportunity to attend.

🐾 ANIMAL THERAPY – IMPORTANT INFORMATION 🐾

Due to the nature of the animal therapy sessions, there is a strict maximum number of people allowed in the therapy area at any one time.

✅ Please only book places for the individual attending and their essential carers or support staff.

✅ Individuals who require 1:1, 2:1 or additional essential support are absolutely welcome to attend with the support they need.

☕ Any additional adults, parents or family members who are not required for essential support are welcome to wait in the café area at Shakers.

This helps us maximise the number of individuals who can enjoy the animal therapy experience safely.

🌈 We’re excited to introduce Mini Phab Doncaster, a new inclusive group bringing young children aged 0–5 and their families together to play, connect and build friendships in a welcoming community.
