Hesley Group provides specialist residential care, supported living and further education for people with learning disabilities and intensive specialist support needs, many of whom are autistic. Are you passionate about developing people and helping them reach their full potential? Join the Hesley Group Workforce Development Team as a Trainer and play a key role in shaping the learning and development journey of our colleagues.

In this rewarding role, you'll deliver engaging induction, mandatory and professional development training, helping new and existing colleagues build the skills and confidence they need to provide outstanding support. You'll be the first face many new starters meet, making a lasting positive impression from day one.

💷 Salary: £34,601 per annum
⏰ Hours: 40 hours per week
📋 Contract: Permanent

We're looking for someone who:
✅ Has training experience and a relevant qualification in care, nursing or education
✅ Can motivate and inspire others through learning and development
✅ Is an excellent communicator with a passion for supporting people
✅ Can travel between services as required

A dream come true - A wonderful day on the call the midwife set tour.

One individual from Lockett Gardens, Meadow View, had an amazing time visiting the film set in Kent.

This was a huge success as it is her absolute favourite programme. She loved the experience and the opportunity to explore the world of a show she enjoys so much.

To make the day even more special she enjoyed a delicious cream tea on set. She had such a wonderful time sharing the experience with her lovely staff and activity coordinator creating some beautiful memories together.

A day she will remember for a long time.

Making a Difference Together 💙

Earlier this week, one of the individuals we support at Meadow View, accompanied by colleagues, kindly delivered a generous donation of items to National Children's Air Ambulance The Hanger Superstore Doncaster.

The superstore supports the National Children's Air Ambulance, an incredible charity providing lifesaving transport and care for critically ill babies and children across the UK.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in this thoughtful act of kindness. By giving back and supporting such an important cause, you're helping to make a real difference in the lives of others and within our wider community. 🌟

Mercury College have been celebrating Black History Month from learning about black history to black history arts and craft themed sessions plus Café Juno has been filled with vibrant, colourful and delicious African and Caribbean food.

The students and our colleagues prepared rice and beans, the famous Nigerian jollof rice, Caribbean spicy chicken, Zimbabwean beef stew, plantains, dumplings and a refreshing salad.

🐾 A Special Visit from Harry the Therapy Dog

On Thursday, we were delighted to welcome Harry the therapy dog and his owner, Louise, for another very special visit.

Harry's calm and friendly nature brought plenty of smiles as people enjoyed spending time with him. Some were happy to simply say hello, while others took the opportunity to stroke him, brush his coat, and enjoy some gentle one-to-one interaction.

With his lovely temperament and gentle approach, Harry made everyone feel at ease, creating a relaxed and enjoyable experience for all. We would like to thank Louise and Harry for visiting us and brightening everyone's day. 💙🐶

Students at Mercury College have been using the desktops in college to improve their IT skills as well as contributing towards the Hesley Magazine. They enjoyed a hands-on Media session using desktop computers to build valuable digital skills, creativity and confidence.

Celebrating a fantastic milestone in communication and inclusion! 🤟

Earlier this week, Nicola Carruthers, Team Leader at Copperclay Mews and a qualified Makaton Tutor, delivered her very first Level 1 Makaton Training session to a group of 10 colleagues.

Sharing her vision for the training, Nicola said:

"The aim is to give colleagues the skills and confidence to use Makaton regularly, helping us support the people we support to communicate, express themselves and have their voices heard."

The day was filled with learning, enthusiasm and plenty of practice, with colleagues gaining valuable new skills to enhance communication across our services. The photos capture the group proudly showing off their certificates and sharing some of their favourite signs learned throughout the session.

A huge congratulations to Nicola on delivering her first training course and to all the colleagues who took part. Investing in communication skills helps us create more inclusive environments where every voice can be heard.
