Today is World Physiotherapy Day.
People often think physiotherapy is mainly massage, exercises or treating the exact place that hurts.
But the body rarely works in separate pieces.
Jaw pain may be connected with tension through the neck, shoulders and breathing. A C-section scar may affect comfort, movement and confidence long after the skin has healed. Pelvic floor symptoms can be influenced by posture, breathing, bowel habits and the way pressure moves through the body.
That is why I don’t look only at one symptom.
I listen to your story, assess how your body works as a whole and explain what I find in clear, simple language. Treatment may include hands-on therapy, movement, exercises and practical advice that fits into real life.
Physiotherapy should help you understand your body — not make you feel confused or afraid of it.
Happy World Physiotherapy Day to my fellow physios and to every patient learning to trust their body again.
