On Saturday, we celebrated National Yorkshire Day with a wonderful day of reminiscing and Yorkshire-themed activities.
Residents shared what first came to mind when we mentioned Yorkshire, sparking lots of fond memories and lively conversations. We then enjoyed a marathon of much-loved Yorkshire television classics, including Heartbeat, Last of the Summer Wine, and vintage episodes of Emmerdale Farm.
The celebrations continued with a traditional Yorkshire afternoon tea. Everyone tucked into a delicious selection of Yorkshire favourites, including Yorkshire Tea, pork pies, cheese with chutney and sweet pickle, ham and English mustard sandwiches, egg mayonnaise sandwiches, Yorkshire custard tarts, fruit loaf, and freshly baked scones.
It was a fantastic day filled with nostalgia, great food, laughter, and wonderful company as we celebrated everything that makes Yorkshire so special.
