Some changes to Creative Wild Women...

As some of you may (or may not) know our lovely Helen is moving to Portsmouth at the end of this year.

While she is staying on at Creative Wild Women as a silent director, the day to day running will be managed by Fiona & Neena.

This will mean that we will have a few changes going on behind-the-scenes as Fiona and Neena navigate what this will look like for them.

In the first instance, there will be no more cabin sessions for the rest of this year as Fiona will be delivering her Wilderness Group Therapy Interventions Program (if you want to know more about this, let her know).

The last cabin session of the year will be the journaling/creative writing on the 7th October 1-3pm.

If you haven't booked on and would like to attend, please let us know 👇

We have also cancelled the wreath making workshops for the rest of this year too.

Fiona and Neena will be working together over the next few months to plan what 2027 will look like for Creative Wild Women.

So... please let us know...

What have you enjoyed, what do you want more of, what would you like to see delivered - both online or in person.

Your input matters a great deal to us.

With love,

Fiona & Neena 💚

Fiona’s first wilderness therapy programme is here…

As part of her final accreditation for the Level 3 Certificate in Advanced Wilderness Therapeutic Approaches (NCFE CACHE accredited via eQe Outdoors), she’s providing a 7-week programme called The Adaptive Wild: Bridging Inner & Outer Worlds.

👉 This particular programme (every programme is slightly different) is designed for adults facing physical mobility challenges, chronic pain, sensory sensitivities, or mental health barriers like anxiety or burnout…

People who long to connect with nature but find the traditional “great outdoors” overwhelming or physically inaccessible.

She’ll be using nature as a reflective mirror, gentle firecraft, natural slate shaping (to name just some of the activities) and group conversation to explore boundaries, energy and personal identity.

There’s a full programme outline for you, so if you’re interested let us know and we’ll send it over (absolutely no obligation)...

But here are some of the basic details, you’ll need to know:

🌳 Where - Basecamp Cabin in the walled gardens at Woodfield Park, Tickhill Road, Doncaster, DN4 8QP

🌳 When - Wednesdays, 11:00 AM - 1:00 PM starting 28th October for 7 weeks (last week is a double session 11:00 AM - 3:00 PM).

🌳 Group Size - Strictly capped at 8 people so it stays intimate and safe.

🌳 Heavily discounted to £160 (£20 per session) to cover venue and material costs, with payment plan options and 1 fully subsidised space available for financial hardship.

And if you have ANY questions or want to chat about any of this, just reply.

Because this is in-person in Doncaster, we know it won’t be accessible for many of you but it would be wonderful if you can share it with any friends or local groups you have in the Doncaster area 😘

There are far too many pictures and memories to share from our wonderful weekend in Derbyshire but here is a snapshot.

From the minute the women entered the space we knew this was going to be a special weekend for the Wild Soul Rising Retreat.

Workshops included yoga, drumming, nature journaling, playful walks, autumn wreath making, botanical hand scrubs and massage, creative flow art, a community lunch making and a true self dinner…

But it was the conversations round the fire and the dinner table where real connection happened.

We want to thank Jane Stretton - Real Life Sage for letting us use her wonderful cottages and farm land for the retreat, Jane West for her beautiful art session and Laura Emily Toplis for her facilitator support.

And most importantly to thank each and every woman who took the time for THEMSELVES…

To step away from their roles and responsibilities and to trust us to hold the most magical space for them to just be 🙏

We’ve all been starting to get ready for this weekend’s retreat today…

Helen mainly on printing 🤣

Neena on logistics 🚐

And Fiona fannying around in her allotment collecting food and other nature bits for our activities 🧅

Tomorrow the fun really starts as we head off in convoy to Derbyshire and the wonderful cottages of Jane Stretton - Real Life Sage

We’re looking forward to welcoming 10 beautiful souls to the Wild Soul Rising Retreat.

And will be posting our fun, frolics and learnings along the way 🥰

For our next Creative Wild Women Cabin session on October 7th, Fiona will be hosting a 2-hour wellbeing workshop called The Unfettered Voice: Creative Writing for Self-Discovery.

So many of us carry a persistent "inner critic"...

That voice that tells us to edit ourselves, stay "in line" or brush our real feelings aside to keep up with daily life.

Over time, that noise makes it really hard to hear our own intuition.

This session is designed to help you put that inner editor on pause, bypass self-doubt and reconnect with your authentic inner voice.

Here's what we'll explore together...

✍️ Unfiltered Expression: We will use spontaneous "stream-of-consciousness" writing techniques to clear the top-layer mental clutter and bypass perfectionism.

✍️ Dialoging with Yourself: We’ll unpick internal blocks and mixed feelings using simple, gentle written prompts.

✍️ Sensory & Creative Prompts: Using intuitive writing tools to anchor yourself in the present moment and discover what you truly need right now.

We need at least 3 people attending this session for it to go ahead so, PLEASE let us know if you intend to come to this session.

And there's a link to book in the comments 👇

Last chance to let us know if you want to attend drumming tomorrow...

We need to know numbers so we can bring the right amount of drums! 🥁

We'll be there 1-3pm tomorrow at the cabin in the walled garden at St. Catherine's House and we hope you'll come join us 🥰

Please message us or let us know in the comments if you're planning on attending thank you x

Join us for Drumming with Neena.

An expressive, rhythmic session using the beat of the drum to support emotional release, shift your mood and reconnect with yourself.

Because we need to take the drums down to the cabin, PLEASE let us know if you intend to come to this session - whether you book or pay on the day.

We need to know numbers.

Drumming is more than about music...

It's about feeling into your own body.

Drumming can help with...

Stress reduction: Slows the nervous system and lowers stress hormones like cortisol.

Brain stimulation: Enhances communication between the left and right brain hemispheres via the corpus callosum.

Mindfulness and focus: Requires deep concentration, pulling your mind into the present moment and easing anxiety.

Social Connection/Group bonding: Community drum circles and ensemble playing foster a deep sense of belonging and empathy.

Self-expression: Provides a non-verbal outlet for processing heavy emotions and building confidence.

So, if this sounds like something that might interest you, book in the comments or message and let us know.

Wow 🤯 what a day we had yesterday Doncaster Pride 🥰

Honoured to be asked to have a wellbeing tent in the trans space and we joined in Bangtastic Samba Drumming Troupe in the Pride Parade 🏳️‍🌈

We delivered drumming, journaling and hand massage session and loved sharing, talking and meeting so many beautiful people.

One of the women who joined us said it was the best pride she’d ever been to because it was wonderful to have a wellbeing tent like ours 🥰

There were so many other lovely comments and it was a day filled of pride for our community connecting with another’s.

If you’re missing our sessions, don’t forget:

👉 You can join Bangtastic drumming at St Catherine’s House on Tuesdays at 6:30pm - have a go you might enjoy it 🥁
