🎂 Can you help us make Annie’s 100th birthday one to remember? 💌

This November, our lovely Annie at The Beeches will celebrate a very special milestone – her 100th birthday!

One hundred years of life, memories, people, places and stories. We think that deserves rather a lot of birthday cards!

So we’re asking our friends, families, local community – and anyone further afield who would like to join in – to send Annie a birthday card.

We’d absolutely love to see just how far they can travel from. Doncaster, Yorkshire, Scotland, Australia… wherever you are, there’s room in Annie’s birthday postbag!

If you have children or grandchildren, perhaps they could make one. If you’re part of a school, community group, business, care home or organisation, we’d love you to get involved too.

Let’s see if we can completely fill Annie’s mailbox with birthday wishes. ❤️

Please send cards to:

Annie
The Beeches Residential Home
Beech Road
Armthorpe
Doncaster
DN3 2DZ

And please share this post – the further it travels, the more birthday wishes we might be able to collect before Annie’s big day.

We’ll keep you updated on how many arrive and, of course, share some of the celebrations when Annie turns the magnificent 100! 🎉🎂

Some people don't need an invitation… they know they're always welcome. ❤️

This morning, Harry Potts popped into The Beeches Care Home in Armthorpe for a coffee and a catch-up with residents and the team.

Harry regularly comes to The Beeches for respite care, so it wasn't long before he was chatting, laughing and catching up with familiar faces. In fact, he felt so at home that he decided to stay for the rest of the day!

Moments like this remind us what The Beeches is all about. We're more than a care home – we're part of our local community. Whether someone lives with us, visits for respite, is a family member or simply pops in to say hello, everyone is made to feel part of the family.

As Strong Life Care continues to grow, one thing will never change. Every one of our homes will always be a place where people are welcomed with a smile, friendships flourish, and the kettle is always on.

Thank you for calling in today, Harry. It was lovely to see you, and we hope you enjoyed spending the day with everyone.

💙 These aren't our words... they're yours. 💙

When we created this word cloud using recent reviews from families and visitors to The Beeches Care Home, we couldn't help but smile.

The words that stand out most aren't about buildings or décor. They're about the people.

✨ Happy
✨ Friendly
✨ Staff
✨ Residents
✨ Looked after

That means the world to us.

Kathleen, Kirsten and the whole team work incredibly hard to make The Beeches a place where residents feel safe, happy and truly at home, so seeing your kind words reflected like this is something they should all be very proud of.

Thank you to everyone who has taken the time to leave a review. Your feedback not only helps other families looking for care, but it also gives our team the recognition they deserve.

If you've visited The Beeches or have a loved one living with us, we'd love to hear about your experience too. Every review makes a difference. 💙

Some people leave a legacy that can never be measured in years alone.

This week, colleagues, residents, families and friends at The Beeches Care Home in Armthorpe came together to celebrate the life of a remarkable woman whose kindness, humour and dedication touched countless lives.

Jill devoted more than 25 years to The Beeches, working in almost every role within the home, including Home Manager. More than a colleague, she became part of the fabric of the home, caring for generations of residents, supporting families through difficult times and mentoring countless colleagues who had the privilege of working alongside her.

Her sudden passing while on duty has been deeply felt by everyone who knew her.

Knowing how much Jill adored Christmas, Kathleen Dumbuya, Home Manager, and the team organised a special Christmas Day celebration in her honour—a fitting tribute filled with laughter, memories and, of course, Christmas songs, which Jill was famous for singing throughout the year, much to the amusement of everyone around her.

The celebration was made even more personal by Christian Mason, Home Manager at our sister home, Thornhill House. As an experienced celebrant, Christian delivered a heartfelt service that perfectly captured Jill's warmth, humour and the joy she brought to others, providing comfort to colleagues, residents and her family.

As Jill's funeral cortege passes The Beeches, colleagues and residents will gather one final time to pay their respects to someone who gave so much of herself to others.

Stories like Jill's remind us that social care is built on people. It is built on relationships, compassion, professionalism and a commitment that extends far beyond a job description.

Jill leaves behind her husband, daughter, son and a care home family who will miss her enormously. Her legacy will live on in the lives she touched, the colleagues she inspired and the residents who will never forget her.

At Strong Life Care, we are privileged to have known her.

Our thoughts remain with Jill's family, friends and everyone at The Beeches.

Everyone has a life worth celebrating. ❤️

🇬🇧❤️ Brian Had a Wonderful Day at the Mansion House ❤️🇬🇧

Beeches resident Brian was delighted to attend Doncaster's annual Veterans' Tea at the Mansion House as part of Armed Forces Week.

With places limited to veterans living in Doncaster, Brian felt very privileged to receive an invitation and spend the day with fellow veterans.

The event included refreshments, a tour of the beautiful Mansion House, presentations celebrating the service of those attending and a lovely buffet lunch. But for Brian, the highlight was meeting people, sharing stories and being made to feel so welcome.

He loved exploring the building, looking at the photographs and learning more about its history. Most of all, he enjoyed chatting with everyone and being given so much time and attention. By the end of the day, he was absolutely thrilled and had plenty of stories to bring back to The Beeches.

As we continue our journey through the Veteran Friendly Framework, days like this are so important. They recognise the service and sacrifice of our veterans and give them opportunities to reconnect, reminisce and feel appreciated.

A huge thank you to everyone involved in organising such a special event. Brian had a fantastic day and, in his own words, was treated like royalty! 👏🇬🇧
