We’re starting essential enabling works to support the build of our new Urgent Treatment Centre (UTC) at East Surrey Hospital.

These early works include safely connecting underground utilities to the site and are an important step in improving urgent and emergency care for our local community.

From Monday 1 June to Tuesday 23 June, temporary traffic management will be in place during this period, including a one-way system at our main entrance to East Surrey Hospital.

During this period:

- Canada Avenue will become one-way during the works. Most traffic will not be able to exit the site via the Three Arches Road roundabout.

- The only exit route from the hospital for most vehicles will be via the south exit on Canada Drive onto Three Arches Road. Vehicles will still be able to enter the site from this route.

- Canada Avenue will be closed from Goods In to the disabled parking area. The closure area is highlighted in red on the map below.

- Bus services will continue to operate as normal throughout the works.

- All other traffic will be diverted via the south exit onto Three Arches Road. Buses, main entrance drop-offs and pick-ups, and emergency vehicles will still be able to exit via the main entrance.

There will be additional signage on site to support the flow of traffic.

We are working to minimise disruption while ensuring patients can continue to access services safely.

We’ll continue to share updates as the project progresses. Read more here https://bit.ly/4nTZLG8
