🌅A Sunrise Walk: Your Daily Dose of Magic!

Start your day the Ayurvedic way—with a sunrise walk! 🚶‍♂️

This ancient ritual isn’t just a walk; it’s a reset button for your body, mind, and soul. Here’s why you should make it a habit:

🔥 Balances Your Doshas – Ground Vata, energize Kapha, and soothe Pitta.
🌞 Boosts Circadian Rhythms – Sync with the sun for better sleep and energy.
🍵 Supercharges Digestion – Wake up your Agni (digestive fire) for a lighter, brighter day.
🧘 Melts Stress Away – Deep breathing + movement = instant calm.
🛡️ Strengthens Immunity – Sunlight = vitamin D + lymphatic flow = stronger defenses.
🧠 Sharpen Your Mind – Clarity, creativity, and focus? Yes, please!
🌿 Detox Naturally – Sweat, breathe, and let your body reset.

How to do it?
✅ Timing: 30–60 mins before sunrise (Brahma Muhurta magic!).
✅ Pace: Steady, mindful steps—no rush!
✅ Breath: Deep inhales, long exhales (inhale 4 steps, exhale 6).
✅ Mindset: Leave distractions behind—just you, nature, and the morning vibes.

Pro Tip: Walk barefoot on grass (if safe) to ground yourself and absorb that fresh Prana!

Drop a 🌅 in the comments if you’re ready to try it! And tag a friend who needs this reminder.

Yoga doesn't fix anxiety. It teaches you to be with it, accepting how you are in THAT moment. That's the whole practice, really.

Come as you are. 🌿

Watch the clouds for a minute.

They drift, they shift shape, they pass.

You don't reach out and grab one.

That's Pratyahara.

The fifth limb of Ashtanga yoga — sense withdrawal.

Not shutting off from the world, but drawing attention inward and loosening our grip on what the mind keeps offering us.

A thought arrives, drifts through, moves on. No chasing, no gripping, no story attached.

🌿 Doshas & the Seasons: A Gentle Guide

In Ayurveda, the seasons aren’t just changes in weather — they’re shifts in energy that move through our bodies, our moods, and the way we meet each day.

Each season carries a dominant dosha, and when we understand these rhythms, we can soften into practices that help us feel steadier and more supported.

🌿Why this matters

When we align our yoga, food, rest, and daily rituals with the season’s dosha, we’re not fighting nature — we’re flowing with it.

We feel clearer. Calmer. More connected.

And our practice becomes a conversation with the world around us.

Pitta season asks for a little cooling from the inside. A glass of mint or cucumber water before practice can shift how the whole yoga practice feels.

This was my fourth summer retreat and
I just want to take a moment to express my gratitude to everyone that attended.
Not just this year, but over all the years.
Each day is such a wonderful gift. To be able to practise yoga in nature, to be free to explore the estate and cool down by taking a dip in the pond. To share these moments, to have conversations and enjoy gentle movements amongst such wonderful women.
I never take these days for granted. So thank you all 🙏

If you want to experience one of these days, or want to know what events, workshops and courses are coming up, please follow and click the link in my bio to join my mailing list.

☀️Summer Solstice: The Turning Point: Dakshinayana

Sunday, 21 June 2026, the sun reaches its highest point in the sky for the whole year — then pauses, and begins its slow journey south.

In yogic tradition, this moment marks the start of Dakshinayana (दक्षिणायन), the "southward" half of the year. If the months after the winter solstice are about outward energy and expansion, this next phase invites us inward — towards introspection, stillness, and steady practice.

It's often called the "night of the gods" or Devatas. An invitation to turn inward, soften, and let our practice deepen into Sadhana (spiritual practice) rather than push outward.

I'll be marking this turning point with a whole day at Knepp Rewilding Estate. A chance to reflect on the spaciousness of the last six months, and gently begin to meet the energy of the next six.

A beautiful moment to pause, breathe, and notice the shift 🌿

In preparation for the Summer Solstice, I thought I'd return to Sun Salutations. Surya Namaskar is more than a sequence — it’s a moving prayer.

Each pose carries meaning and a quiet reverence to the light within.

In this reel, I break down every pose and how each one guides us through grounding, rising, opening, and returning.

I love chanting the Sanskrit names. I find they help me draw my awareness inwards and deepen the mind-body connection.

A slow, reverent way to greet the day.
