Join us at Dorking Manor for a week of culture, community and celebration inspired by the World Cup and countries from around the globe 🌍⚽✨

All week is open to the local community, with our main focus on Thursday - Brazil Carnival Day 🎉

📅 Monday 15th June - Opening Ceremony | Kick Off Around the World
2.30pm - 4pm: Flag parade with residents, families and staff, resident captains, torch ceremony, national anthem singalong, mocktails and international snacks

📅 Tuesday 16th June - England Day | Golden Oldies Football
10.45am - 12pm: Chair football, penalty shoot-outs and stadium stroll
2.30pm - 4pm: Shirt designing, crafts and cream tea, plus pie & mash lunch and football singalongs

📅 Wednesday 17th June - Italy & Spain Day | Food & Fiesta
10.45am - 12pm: World quiz with flags, trivia and music
2.30pm - 4pm: Pizza making, tapas tasting, mocktails, flamenco scarf dancing and gentle seated dance

📅 Thursday 18th June - Brazil Carnival Day (Community Open Day)
10.45am - 12pm: Carnival crafts, including masks, maracas and drums
2.30pm - 4pm: Live music, samba dancers, school choir and resident percussion. Tropical refreshments and BBQ-style food (weather permitting) in the garden

📅 Friday 19th June - World Cup Community Day
10.45am - 12pm: Intergenerational games including penalty shoot-outs and balloon football
2.30pm - 4pm: Community café with tea, cakes and football memories board

Wow what a fantastic morning our CRM Roy came along with his biker pals and showed our residents the bikes. Ann wanted to have a ride but the next best thing was to sit on one . A big thank you to all the guys and gals that came along this morning and made it special for all our residents they had a great time! Moments like this bring so much fun and interactions with different people.

The power of animals in care is amazing.

Having a fun morning playing pool here at Dorking manor. Some brilliant shots and residents teaching others to play. We found some real hustlers today and hopefully will have some tournaments in the future.

Making the most of this amazing weather with a morning walk with Rosie the therapy dog and Alison. We finished off with a well deserved ice lolly!

As part of dementia action week we have been busy with our danceathon. The boogie was full on all day and finished off with a wonderful afternoon’s entertainment with the amazing Marianna. The hits kept coming and everyone brought their signature moves.
