Our hospitals need your help as we experience sustained pressure on our services.

Our Emergency Departments (EDs) are extremely busy and we have high numbers of patients staying in hospital after they are medically safe to go home. This stops patients in our EDs getting the bed they need on our wards.

Getting your loved ones home as soon as they are well enough to is vital. We would like families and carers to please prioritise getting your loved one’s home when you are contacted.

Please also only use our EDs in an emergency and carefully consider other services available.

These include:
• NHS 111 online or by phone.
• Local pharmacies.
• Urgent Treatment Centres.
• Your GP (including out-of-hours services).

Our staff are working under extreme pressure and in difficult environments. We need your support to get the right treatment to our patients.
