We are currently recruiting Healthcare Assistants to join our exceptional team of CareAngels, supporting clients in their own homes across Christchurch and the surrounding areas.

We have full-time, part-time and guaranteed hours available, whether you are looking for a permanent role or just some extra hours to earn additional income.

You will need to be able to drive and have access to your own car, as this is a community-based role.

With temperatures rising this week, we wanted to share a few simple reminders for staying safe and comfortable in the heat, particularly for those who may be more vulnerable to the effects of warm weather.

✅️ Stay hydrated. It is easy to forget to drink enough water during the day, especially if you are not feeling thirsty. Little and often is a good approach.

✅️ Stay cool indoors. Keep curtains and blinds closed during the hottest part of the day, usually between 11am and 3pm, to help keep rooms comfortable.

✅️ Know the signs. Dizziness, headaches, and feeling unusually tired can all be early signs of heat exhaustion. If you or someone you care for is experiencing these, seek shade, cool water, and rest. If symptoms are severe, do not hesitate to call 111 or 999.

✅️ Check in on those around you. A quick call or visit to a neighbour or family member can make a real difference on hot days.

Our CareAngels are keeping a close eye on the clients they support throughout the warm weather. If you have any concerns about a loved one, please do not hesitate to get in touch with your local team.

As we reflect on this historic day, let’s take time to appreciate the freedoms we enjoy and pay tribute to those who served on the front lines, supported from home and helped rebuild in the years that followed.
