Autumn is my favourite season. And provides us with an important message. One I share with my yoga students.
As the golden hues of Autumn sweep across the landscape, we are gently reminded of nature's powerful wisdom. The trees, once full and vibrant, now begin to shed their leaves, letting go without resistance. This natural rhythm teaches us an important lesson: that change is not only inevitable but essential for growth.
Just as the trees release their leaves to make way for new growth in the Spring, we too must be willing to let go of what no longer serves us. It may be an old habit, a limiting belief, or even a familiar pattern of behaviour. Itโs in the act of surrendering that we create space for renewal, for new possibilities to emerge.
Our lives are made up of seasons, each one guiding us to reflect, adapt, and transform. In this season of letting go, we are reminded that itโs okay to allow ourselves to feel whatever needs to be felt. We may experience moments of sadness, nostalgia, or even fear, but itโs in acknowledging these feelings that we open the doorway to healing.
Just like the crisp air fills our lungs, let us breathe deeply and embrace change. Let us trust the process and honour the wisdom that lies in surrendering. There is beauty in release and there is freedom in letting go. We are also reminded that as the leaves fall and die, we are reminded too that life is not forever. Look after your body and live your best life.
Yoga allows us to embrace the change.
May this Autumn be a gentle reminder to allow ourselves the space to heal, to grow, and to flourish in our own time. ๐
With love and warmth,
Caroline Purvey
