Just checking - as a 44 year old - 1 year on HRT 💜

The menopause edit ❤️

Just checking you know your skin changes can be directly linked to the fluctuating hormones in menopause ! Here’s what I have experienced …

- Acne breakouts
-facial flushing
- rosacea type flare ups
-histamine responses from certain foods / red wine
-itching
-sensitivity to products

These changes are largely driven by declining estrogen, changes in collagen production, a weaker skin barrier, altered oil production, and shifts in inflammation throughout the body.

It took me few months to realise it was all hormone related!

I have been on HRT for 1 year now which has helped - however I had to rethink my whole skincare routine and the best advice I can give is keep it simple and be consistent!

I’ve also had Microneedling , regular facials and a simple medical grade skincare routine 🫶

The fog brain as I call it now !
The overthinking
The lack of decision making
The absolute madness that took over my body and mind and no one warned us about !
And don’t get me started on the normal bloods !!
