I’m proud to announce that Lee Russell Independent Funeral Directors has successfully passed our recent SAIF inspection.

As members of the Society of Allied and Independent Funeral Directors (SAIF), we are committed to maintaining high professional standards and ensuring that the families who place their trust in us receive the care, dignity and respect they deserve.

The SAIF inspection is a thorough review of the way in which a funeral home operates. Our inspection included an assessment of:

• Our adherence to the SAIF Code of Practice
• Health & Safety procedures and working practices
• Internal paperwork, record keeping and administration
• Our funeral home and mortuary facilities
• Procedures for the care and identification of the deceased
• The systems we have in place to ensure dignity, security and traceability throughout a person's time in our care
• Our overall professional standards and working practices

For us, inspections like this are incredibly important.

We welcome independent inspection and accountability within our profession, and we are proud to be members of SAIF and to work in accordance with the standards expected of independent funeral directors.

Passing our inspection is a reflection of the hard work and dedication of our entire team, both those our families meet and those working quietly behind the scenes.

Happy International Dogs Day 2026 🐶

International Dog Day belongs to all of them; the dog still waiting in a shelter for someone to say yes. The service and rescue dogs working without asking for thanks. And the one curled up beside you right now, convinced you hung the moon.

However they came into your life, today is a good day to hold them a little closer. ❤️

After someone dies, there can be a lot to think about, often at a time when it is difficult to take everything in.

Cremation or burial. A church service or something smaller. Music, readings, flowers, notices, transport and all the practical details in between.

You do not need to have every answer straight away.

My role is to explain the options clearly, give you time where possible, and help you take the next step with confidence.

We have been entrusted with the funeral arrangements of the late John (Frank) Francis O’Hara.
Frank sadly passed away on the 17th August 2026 aged 82 years.

The funeral service will be held on Wednesday 2nd September 2026, 12:30 pm at Redditch Crematorium.

Donations in memory of Frank are welcome in support of Alzheimer’s Research UK.
