On Sunday 12th July we're exhibiting at and sponsoring Warrington Disability Partnership Disability Awareness Day in Warrington!

Launched in 1992, Disability Awareness Day (DAD) is widely recognised as the world’s largest, voluntary led, pan disability, and free to attend, independent living expo.

Over 150 exhibitors will highlight solutions supporting independent living and mobility, with equipment, products, transport, employment, education, health and social care, leisure activities, alongside over 100 charities/support groups.

We hope to see you there!

Customers living in a Citizen supported accommodation scheme are enjoying more independence thanks to upgraded facilities – made possible through donations from AKW and Lovell Homes.

AKW donated a communal toilet, while Lovell provided and installed new units in the utility room as part of both organisations’ social value commitments.

Citizen Homes Supported Housing and Partnership Team Leader, Rob Breeze, said: “I’d like to say a huge thank you to AKW and Lovell for their hard work on this project. Their teams, alongside our Assets Team, worked extremely hard to make sure the specialist bathing equipment was right when designing the new bathrooms."

This , we're proud to say that we've removed an energy intensive shrink-wrap machine previously used to package trays, which has been replaced with biodegradable cardboard packaging, saving 5.2 tonnes of plastic per year.

This means we have removed the majority of single-use plastic from shower trays, screens, waste pumps and shower accessory kits.

We have also removed plastic from our 2000 and 4000 Series shower seat range and have plans to implement this change across the whole product range. Once plastic is removed from the entire range, this will result in savings of 2.6 tonnes of plastic removed from packaging per year.
