🩷 SMALL BUSINESS SATURDAY 🩷

There’s something rather special about supporting a small business.

Behind every appointment, every message, every social media post, every course and every little detail you see is a real person who genuinely cares about the work they do.

For me, The Full Spectrum Centre Limited has never simply been about offering treatments.

For over 20 years, it has grown into a place where people come to rest, reset, learn, develop and sometimes completely change direction in their lives.

✨ Clients come through the door needing time away from busy lives, stress and overwhelm.

✨ Learners arrive ready to begin a new career or add another skill to an existing one.

✨ People join our meditations and community because they simply need somewhere to slow down and reconnect.

And I still get to be part of all of it.

I’m the person answering your messages, preparing the treatment room, welcoming you through the door, delivering your treatments, teaching our learners, planning our courses and wondering what we can create next. 💜

Today, The Full Spectrum Centre is an award-winning holistic wellbeing and vocational training centre, offering professional complementary therapies alongside OFQUAL-regulated VTCT qualifications.

But underneath the awards, qualifications and business growth, the heart of it remains exactly the same:

Helping people feel better, learn something new and move forward.

So on Small Business Saturday, I’d simply like to say thank you.

💜 Well, I wasn’t expecting this…

Alongside this morning’s wonderful news that The Full Spectrum Centre has officially been announced as an award winner, I’ve also discovered that my lovely friend Toni has nominated me personally for the Womanifest 2027 Wellness Advocate Award.

I genuinely had no idea she had done it.

But it was what she wrote about why she nominated me that really stopped me in my tracks. 🥹

Toni wrote:

“Joanne always puts her clients first, that’s why she is always fully booked. She rarely takes time for herself and I don’t think she realises quite how impactful her work is. She also trains other therapists and her training centre is VTCT approved. Her knowledge is second to none and she will do anything for anyone. She deserves a bit of recognition.”

When you spend your days seeing clients, supporting learners and graduates, teaching, planning, answering questions and generally getting on with running a busy Centre, you don’t necessarily stop to think about how other people see the work you do.

So this was so lovely to read.

Whether anything comes of the nomination or not, being thought of and nominated by someone who knows me and my work so well means a great deal.

And apparently 2026 has decided I need to get a little more comfortable with receiving recognition. 😂

🏆 A lovely bit of news to share this morning…

It’s now official — The Full Spectrum Centre Limited has been announced as the winner of Best Holistic Wellbeing & Trauma-Informed Therapy Centre 2026 – North West England, in the Corporate Vision Education and Training Awards 2026. 💜

It was wonderful to receive the news a little while ago, but seeing our name published on the official winners list this morning has made it feel that little bit more special.

This particular award means a lot to me because it reflects the way the Centre has naturally evolved over the years, supporting wellbeing as a whole and creating a space where people can feel comfortable, listened to and supported.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who continues to support The Full Spectrum Centre, whether you visit for treatments, train with me, recommend the Centre to others, leave a lovely review or simply follow along here.

I never take that support for granted. 💜

✨ Research into Reiki continues to grow, and it’s always encouraging to see studies exploring how complementary therapies may support people living with complex health conditions.

Cancer-related fatigue is one of the most common and challenging side effects experienced during and after cancer treatment. Unlike everyday tiredness, it often isn’t relieved by sleep or rest alone.

This interesting article looks at research investigating whether Reiki may offer additional support for people experiencing cancer-related fatigue.

As always, Reiki should be viewed as a complementary therapy that works alongside conventional medical care,not as a replacement for it.

Reiki Treatments vs Rest for Cancer Fatigue

Cancer-related fatigue affects over 60% of cancer patients and is profoundly debilitating yet undertreated and often dismissed.

Unlike ordinary tiredness, it is not relieved by rest.

This study tested whether Reiki treatments could do something that simply resting cannot.

🌿 Congratulations to our Reflexology and Complementary Therapies Diploma Learners! 🌿

A huge congratulations to Rachael, Joanne, Denise and Bernadine, who have successfully completed their Foot Reflexology practical training days this weekend. 👏💜

Tomorrow marks the start of an exciting new chapter as they begin working with their Foot Reflexology case study clients, putting their new knowledge and practical skills into practice.

Watching each of you grow in confidence over the past few training days has been an absolute privilege. You have all bloomed and blossomed, supporting one another, embracing feedback, and developing into compassionate, confident therapists. I couldn’t be prouder of what you’ve achieved.

We’ll be welcoming you all back in January for your Hand Reflexology practical training, by which time you’ll have gained valuable experience through your foot reflexology case studies. It’s wonderful to see your journey unfolding one step at a time.

Congratulations once again, you’ve worked incredibly hard to reach this milestone, and I can’t wait to see where your reflexology journey takes you next.
