🦠FLU SEASON 2026 – GET READY! 💉

With flu season approaching, we wanted to let all our patients know what’s happening this year at Greenhead Pharmacy! 🏥💚

💉 NHS FLU VACCINATIONS – FREE FOR THOSE ELIGIBLE

Our NHS flu vaccination programme begins on Monday 14th September. The NHS vaccine is available free of charge to those who are eligible, including people in clinical risk groups such as:

• People with chronic respiratory conditions, such as asthma or COPD
• People with chronic heart or vascular conditions
• People with chronic kidney or liver disease
• People with certain neurological conditions
• People with diabetes or certain endocrine disorders
• People who are immunosuppressed
• People with asplenia or problems with their spleen
• People with severe obesity (Class 3)
• Pregnant women
• Everyone aged 65 and over
• Carers who meet the eligibility criteria
• Household contacts of people who are immunocompromised
• Frontline health and social care workers

We will begin taking bookings for NHS flu vaccinations from Monday 7th September.

💉 PRIVATE FLU VACCINATIONS – £20
For anyone who isn't eligible for the free NHS vaccination, we will once again be offering our private flu vaccination service for just £20.
Unfortunately, there has been a delay this year in the manufacture and subsequent delivery of the private flu vaccines. This means that, at present, we don't expect to have our private vaccines available until
the beginning of November. 😔
Obviously, if this changes and we receive any stock earlier, we will let you know! 📢
We'd encourage everyone who is eligible for an NHS vaccination to book as soon as possible and help protect yourself, your family and those around you this winter. ❤️

💙💚 Greenhead Pharmacy is looking for a part time (around 15 hours) Front of Shop Assistant to join our team! 💊

Are you looking for a rewarding role in your local community, with the opportunity to develop a career in healthcare? 👩‍⚕️👨‍⚕️
This could be the perfect opportunity for you! 🙌
The role would initially focus on supporting the front of shop and retail side of the pharmacy, including:

🛍️ Organising and maintaining stock for our retail operation
✨ Keeping the front of shop clean, tidy and welcoming
😊 Being the first point of contact for our customers
💊 Retrieving medications from the dispensary shelves
👨‍⚕️ Recognising when a customer needs further help and referring them to the pharmacist or the rest of the team

There is also the opportunity for the role to develop into a Healthcare Assistant position, with training and support provided as you progress. 📚🎓

✅ Experience in pharmacy isn't essential!
We're looking for someone who is friendly, reliable, enthusiastic and enjoys helping people. Most importantly, you'll need a willingness to learn and become part of our friendly team. ❤️

🕘 Open 9:00am – 5:30pm
🍽️ No lunch closure – we’re here all day!

With many GP surgeries closed today, we’re here to help with a wide range of healthcare needs.

🏃‍♂️ You might have seen it in the Advertiser already, but Greenhead Pharmacy's John is taking on the Dublin Marathon for Cure Parkinson's! 💙

This October, John will be running the Dublin Marathon in aid of Cure Parkinson's, an incredible charity dedicated to funding research to slow, stop and ultimately cure Parkinson's disease.
Many families are affected by Parkinson's, and every donation, no matter how big or small, will help support vital research into finding better treatments and, one day, a cure.

A massive thank you to everyone who has already supported John's fundraising journey so far! The donations online, cash handed into the Pharmacy and for all the kind words of encouragement do mean a lot! ❤️

⚽🏆 We think there must be a fever going around Dumbarton… because we’ve all come down with a serious dose of World Cup Fever at Greenhead Pharmacy! ⚽🏆

Don’t worry though – while we can’t cure World Cup Fever, we can hopefully help with everything else you might need! 😄

As you can see, Greenhead Pharmacy is firmly getting behind Scotland for the World Cup. The flags are up, the trophy is on display, and we’re counting down the days until Scotland kick off their campaign against Haiti on Saturday night/Sunday morning. 💙🏴󠁧󠁢󠁳󠁣󠁴󠁿

💊✨ Just a quick update from Greenhead Pharmacy! ✨💊

We are open as normal today, tomorrow 9am–1pm as usual, and again OPEN AS NORMAL this coming Bank Holiday Monday! 🙌🏥

We’re also delighted to let everyone know that we now have a delivery driver working in the afternoons 🚗💨

This means:
✅ Prescription requests are getting to surgeries quicker
✅ Prescriptions are being picked up quicker
✅ Medications are being delivered quicker

🚨 Easter Opening Hours at Greenhead Pharmacy 🚨

Hi there! 👋

Just a quick update to let everyone know that we’re open today as normal, tomorrow as usual, and again on Monday with our regular opening hours.

We’re here for you over the entire bank holiday weekend—whatever the reason. If you’re feeling unwell, remember we can assess and potentially treat uncomplicated infections without the need to contact NHS24 or wait for an out-of-hours GP appointment 🚑💊

Our aim is to make things as easy and accessible as possible for our community, especially when other services are limited 🫶
