During the day, our Chapel of Rest is a place many families will know well - a place where loved ones are cared for, where families come to say goodbye, and where funeral services and meaningful moments take place.

But at night, it has a very different feel.

The lights are still on. The building is still cared for. And behind those doors, our commitment to the families we serve doesn’t simply switch off when the working day ends.

Grief doesn’t follow a 9–5 schedule, and neither do we.

Roucan Loch Crematorium is looking for a reliable individual who can multi-task and is self-motivated to join the award winning team.

The successful candidate will:
✔️ Operate the cremator and ancillary equipment (Training provided)
✔️ Manage carparking
✔️ Undertake general maintenance work
✔️ Do physical tasks including work outside
✔️ Work flexible hours (including occasional weekends)

Today we were honoured to conduct the funeral service of Allan Moffat, an honorary member of the Dumfries Cornets’ Club and stalwart of the Guid Nychburris Association and Dumfries Agricultural Show.

We’re delighted to share that our charity car wash fundraiser on 31st July raised a fantastic £757 for Maggie’s Dumfries! Look out for the official cheque presentation to Maggie’s in September 🤩

A massive thank you to everyone who came along, supported us, and made donations online. Your generosity and support mean so much to us and will help a wonderful local charity👏

A very special thank you to Palmerston Car Wash and their fantastic staff for their contribution. We’d also like to thank D.G. Lockhart Funeral Directors, who supported the event by bringing along their own limousine for a special valet 🚙

The team at Jardines and the Chapel of Rest had a great day meeting and chatting with members of the public. It was fantastic to see so many people getting behind the fundraiser and helping us make a difference.

We’re already looking forward to our next fundraiser, when we’ll be supporting another fantastic local charity 💙
