Public Holidays

Just a little reminder that Dunbeath Surgery will be closed for the Public Holiday on 15 June and will re-open on Tuesday 16 June at 8am.

There will be a further Public Holiday when we will be closed on Friday 3 July re-opening on Monday 6 July at 8am.

Please allow plenty of time for ordering and picking up prescriptions and be aware of these times when arranging appointments. Where needed please make use of NHS 111 and 999.

Public Holiday

Dunbeath Surgery will be closed for the Easter Public Holiday on Friday 3 April and Monday 6 April.

Please allow for these two extra days when ordering and picking up your prescription.

And as normal when we are closed if needing medical assistance please phone NHS 111 or 999 in an Emergency.

Student Appointments

Good Morning
This week we are starting to offer appointments with our medical student Abi, initially there are only two each on a Wednesday and Thursday morning and we ask you to allow 45 minutes for these. The appointment will be approximately 30 minutes with Abi then the GP will join for the rest of the consultation, possibly from next week we will have more appointments and they will be reduced to around 30 minutes in total.

Ideally the most useful problems to see the student with are new presentations although she will still learn from seeing people who have already been seen before.

Please take advantage of this service and help the next generation of Healthcare Professionals to develop.

Morning update.
We will need to reschedule all of today's nurse appointments (7 January) the GP has checked and there is nothing that can't be rescheduled. Please call today if you have a nurse appointment to re arrange.
Stock wise we did get most deliveries yesterday but we still are struggling for some items that we are trying to get from other suppliers ( We are mainly limited to only 3 companies we can buy from ) so worth waiting another day or at least to the afternoon for picking up.

Operational update

Good morning we are all up and running although the GP did say the roads from Helmsdale were worse this morning than yesterday. We received yesterday's delivery this morning although our two smaller deliveries have not managed to get through before the planned road closure. The side roads are still pretty poor and our car park is looking rather pathetic but hopefully this will be sorted out sooner rather than later but at least we can get in and sort of park.

Operational Update.
Good Morning, Dunbeath Surgery is open but will operate at reduced capacity, We do have a GP onsite although we are short staffed today. Getting to the surgery and parking once you are off the main road is extremely difficult as the side roads are bad and the car park hasn't been cleared so it will still make attending appointments difficult. Where possible we recommend telephone appointments today to avoid travel. We aren't expecting all of our drug deliveries and should the weather turn worse again we may have to close early.

ADVERSE WEATHER CONDITIONS
Due to the ongoing adverse weather conditions throughout the county please expect the chances of a much changed service on Monday 5th January 2026 and potentially a knock on further in to the week. Please call before travelling to any pre-booked appointments and ensure we have your correct contact details for any call back. Also as all deliveries begin their Journey to us from the Glasgow area please allow at least one extra day when ordering prescriptions.

We will post once we have any updates.
