We removed the crowd, the noise, the wooden benches and the intense blast of heat to your head. What’s left is yours.

Scotland’s only lie-down, head-out infrared pod. Slow, gentle warmth from within.

Head out, breathing easy, no one beside you. Just thirty quiet minutes that belong to no one but you.

In the 90s, a Japanese cardiologist started prescribing infrared heat to his heart patients. Hospitals studied it for the next 25 years & the results were remarkable. That same far infrared warmth is what we use at Solāis. 🇯🇵✨

Last chance to try Infrared + Shiatsu together this Saturday 🔥

Two of Japan’s most powerful healing traditions. One hour. One room.

Start with deep infrared warmth — rooted in a clinical protocol developed by a Japanese cardiologist and studied in hospitals for over 25 years. In a landmark 5-year study, regular sessions cut cardiac events and hospitalisations by more than half. Research also shows pain reduced by up to 78% after 10 sessions, with improvements in fatigue, sleep, anxiety and low mood.

Then Shiatsu — the most functional massage there is. Working along the meridian lines, it targets held tension directly and reveals the areas under pressure and quietly overcompensating.

Relax deeply. Support your whole system. £60 for the full hour.

This is the last one before we take a short break from our monthly collabs — drop me a message to grab your spot 💛

IMGAOIO.

AKA: It Might Go Away On Its Own.

Credit to the brilliantly funny Dave Barry for finally giving a name to the healthcare regime many men have been following for years.

The shoulder that has been tight for two years, the sleep that is never quite right, and the stress that has just become personality at this point.

Give it time. It’ll sort itself.

It won’t.

And the person who loves them? They have known that for a while.

In honour of Father's Day and Men's Health Month, this June we are dedicating our shiatsu and infrared sessions to the men. And to anyone who has ever lived by this regimen.

High blood pressure. Chronic pain. Burnout. Poor sleep. These things don't announce themselves. They build quietly and they compound. The longer they're left the more they cost.

Infrared works directly with the body. It supports circulation, reduces inflammation, settles the nervous system and reaches the kind of chronic tension that paracetamol stopped touching years ago.

Consistent, repeatable support that works best before things break down, not after.

Book a single session or gift voucher at the link below. Paper vouchers from the studio. Sessions from £30.

On Saturday 13th June Masami joins us for her monthly shiatsu collab. This month shaped around what's been sitting unaddressed. The thing that hasn't reached crisis point yet but is there.

Slots are limited. DM us to book.

To the partners who've been saying something for the hundredth time. Your moment has arrived. Send this. Book it. Come together.

This is your invitation.

No two people come to Solāis for exactly the same reason.

And no two people notice the same thing afterwards.

For me, the pod is one of the ways I build planned rest into my week. Starting a business is hard, and unless I physically schedule time out, it is far too easy to keep pushing.

Once you are in there, though, there is very little to do except stop. The heat, the quiet, the privacy, it all makes rest feel less like another task and more like something your body can actually accept.

I also use it for muscle recovery. There has been a small blip in my “getting back to the gym” stage but last night I repped out 100kg RDLs after six weeks off, so today called for lying on my front.

I use it for PCOS too, and for the hormonal dysregulation that can come with that. Some sessions feel physical. Some feel emotional. Some are just quiet, necessary pauses in a full week.

The reasons people come in are different and the things they notice are often very personal. Better sleep. A quieter head. Less pain. Feeling less on edge. A proper pause. Sometimes it is something small but it matters.

I’d genuinely love to hear what you use your Solāis sessions for, if you have been in.

The physical reasons. The emotional ones. The little things you notice afterwards that are hard to explain but easy to feel. 🫶🏻

I’m thinking about trialling a small Thursday evening gathering at Solāis.

A calm wee space to chat about women’s health, stress, recovery and life in general.

A few clients have mentioned they’d value something like this, especially as conversations already seem to happen quite naturally here.

It would likely be around 6.30/7pm on a Thursday, with everything still open to being shaped around what works.

Just gauging interest for now, feel free to comment below or drop me a DM if this sounds like something you’d be interested in. ✨🫶🏻

People are often surprised when I tell them I studied Politics.

On paper, it probably looks quite different to opening a private infrared studio. But looking back, there were clues everywhere.

I’ve always had a tendency to become completely obsessed with things.

At university I convinced my dissertation supervisor to let me write about drone technology in the Middle East before it was really being covered. I loved finding the spaces people were not looking at yet.

That never really changed.

I moved into charity consultancy and worked my way from recruitment admin to Head of Project Development. Then later designed and built an entire knowledge-sharing project from scratch, securing Scottish Enterprise funding and seeing it through from idea to delivery myself.

The whole point of that project was making knowledge more accessible. Taking information that often sat behind consultancy walls and making it easier for charities to use.

Looking back now, that feels very familiar.

I have always been interested in access.

Reducing barriers.

Helping people get what they need more easily.

Health was no different.

Long before ingredient lists became trendy, I was 16 checking products on EWG, making my own shea butter creams, buying organic products and disappearing down health rabbit holes because I genuinely loved understanding it all.

I approach health exactly the same way I approach everything else, curiosity first.

Then there is my mum.

Chronic illness has shaped a lot in my life and she was one of the biggest influences behind Solāis.

I had tried to convince her to try all sorts over the years. Acupuncture, natural approaches, different ideas. Most of them were politely ignored.

Infrared was different.

It was gentle enough that she returned to it.

And honestly, seeing someone you love feel better from something simple, private and manageable brought a lot of joy.

That probably shaped Solāis more than I realised.

Because I was never interested in creating a showy wellness space.

I wanted something quieter.

Private. Thoughtful. Calm.

Somewhere people carrying a lot could access recovery more easily.

Looking back, Solāis feels less like a career change and more like all the parts of me finally meeting in one place.

And somehow July marks one year 🤍
