NEW COURSE NOW LIVE – Schemas in Early Years
Why does a child keep lining things up? Carrying objects from one place to another? Wrapping, spinning, connecting or repeating the same type of play again and again?
They may be exploring a schema.
Our brand-new Schemas in Early Years course is now live and has been approved by The CPD Group for 2 CPD points.
This practical, interactive course helps Early Years practitioners understand the eight commonly recognised schemas and, more importantly, how this knowledge can strengthen observation, planning and everyday practice.
You'll explore how to:
🔹 Recognise possible patterns in children's play
🔹 Observe without jumping to conclusions or labelling children
🔹 Support schema interests with appropriate resources and environments
🔹 Extend learning while still following the child's lead
🔹 Communicate observations confidently with parents and carers
🔹 Turn observations into meaningful, responsive planning
The course includes videos, interactive activities, realistic scenarios, reflection tasks and downloadable resources to use within your setting.
