Today my PT, Liam Geekie Personal Trainer, pushed me further than I thought I could go...and I surprised myself. 🦵💪
We started Barbell Hip Thrusts at 50kg, and little by little he kept adding more weight. By the time we hit 80kg-that's 26kg MORE than my own body weight-my mind was screaming, "I can't do this".
In fact, I actually said those exact words before I even tried.
But today taught me something important: sometimes the biggest weight I carry isn't on the barbell...it's the limiting beliefs in my own mind.
I'm starting to realise that my “I can't” mindset has been a default setting for me both in and out of the gym. Maybe it's fear of getting it wrong. Maybe it's an avoidance tactic. Maybe it's years of doubting myself before I've even tried.
But today, with the encouragement and support of my PT, I tried anyway.
And I DID IT. 🔥
So, what have you already decided you can't do...without truly trying?
In my book, "Change Your Story, Change Your Life" , I quote Henry Ford who said, "Whether you think you can or you think you can't-your right".
What could you acheive if you stopped listening to the voice inside telling you, "you can't?" 👊
