Steve and I have just come back from our first coupleās yoga session together with the fabulous Kaye Holistic Essences and I have to say⦠I feel so much more relaxed, open and grounded than I did a few hours ago. š§š¼āāļøš§š»āāļø
Iād like to think these sessions might help me become a little more flexible, but starting yoga is about so much more than that for me.
I feel like Iāve reached a point where I want to invest more intentionally in my mind and body health, while also creating dedicated time for us as a couple.
Itās important to pursue our own goals, but itās equally important to make space for experiences that nurture us together and support our relationship.
Life can become busy⦠work, responsibilities, routines and endless to-do lists can quietly take over if weāre not paying attention.
As a therapist, I spend a lot of time talking about the importance of looking after our emotional wellbeing, but our bodies need that same care and attention too.
I think many of us wait until weāre feeling stressed, disconnected or depleted before we give ourselves permission to prioritise our wellbeing⦠but perhaps self-care isnāt always about fixing something.
Sometimes itās about nurturing something before it needs to be fixed.
For me, this feels like an opportunity to slow down, move my body differently, quiet my mind and spend quality time with my husband.
Iām looking forward to seeing where it takes us.
But for tonight⦠my mind feels a little quieter and my body a little lighter because of it. šæ
