Tonight, Northern Ireland will experience a historic partial solar eclipse, with the Moon obscuring around 93% of the Sun, our deepest solar eclipse since 1999. 🌘

The eclipse begins at around 6:10pm, reaches its maximum shortly after 7pm, and ends shortly after 8pm.

For a short while, things will get a little darker and sometimes, life can feel that way too.

If you’re going through a difficult time, you don’t have to face it alone. We’re here to listen, support and be there when you need us.

If you’re watching the eclipse, remember to protect your eyes and never look directly at the Sun without suitable eclipse viewing protection.

Solar eclipse - look after your eyes!

Whilst a solar eclipse is an amazing and infrequent event, the public must remember that looking directly at the sun can lead to retinal burns and permanent loss of sight.

We’re sometimes asked, "Should I say domestic violence or domestic abuse❓"

There isn’t a wrong answer, but the terms can mean different things to different people. While domestic violence often refers to physical violence, domestic abuse is a broader term that includes emotional, psychological, sexual, financial and coercive or controlling behaviour.

The most important thing to remember is that abuse doesn't have to involve physical violence to be abuse.
