If you’ve trained at Reiki Level 2 with me you’ll remember meeting this cuddly pair! In this course students learn to work with 3 symbols, each of which holds its own individual energy and uses, and one symbol specifically enables you to send Reiki distantly to another anywhere in the world. And I understand how bizarre this statement sounds until you start learning and experiencing the distance work for yourself.

Substitution is one of my favourite methods for offering Reiki distantly, and these were a lovely gift from my Reiki Teacher, Linda Cowan, who used them for many years with her students (and I remember using them in her classes). I especially love the fact that they have been filled with Reiki energy for years and years, and continue to do so. Thank you Linda 🙏♥️

✨Sacred Inspiration✨
The Orkney Islands Part 1 ~ The Italian Chapel

Have you ever been inspired by a story and just felt such an inexplicable desire to go there?

A few weeks ago I visited the Italian Chapel for the second time and, like the first time I visited five years ago, I was trying to get out of the campervan before I had even parked in my haste to get inside the chapel. The energy of the area felt light, and a bit sparky and magical like it always does on small islands and in thin places. Upon entering the chapel I felt the same sense of relief that I did last time… that I had made it there at last! Stepping inside the energy changed to peace and stillness then to wonder, appreciation and respect.

The chapel was constructed in 1942 by Italian prisoners of war who were taken to Orkney and based at Lamb Holm where they worked to construct the Churchill barriers during the Second World War.

A group of men led by Domenico Chiochetti, who was a painter, built the chapel by joining two Nissen huts and created inside a beautifully ornate place of peace.

At the end of the war in 1945 the soldiers returned to Italy, but Domenico stayed to complete the work and returned again many years later to restore some of the original work.

For the campers – there are 2 campsites at Kirkwall – the Orkney Caravan Park at the Pickaquoy Centre situated by the harbour and a very short walk into town, and Kirkwall Bay Touring Park situated on the outskirts of Kirkwall with amazing sea views

A post of a different kind, and one of huge gratitude for a beautiful friend whom we bade farewell to today, until our souls meet again. We met at work in a different lifetime and she was a lover of purple, orchids, afternoon tea and a great friend to many. She was involved in my journey with Reiki from the beginning as a case study, and a great champion when I decided to found Yasashii Healing. Fly high my beautiful friend and thank you for everything 💜

Some people think that becoming a teacher is the ultimate goal in Reiki however, it really is just the beginning… the beginning of a vocation to support, guide, educate, create, hone and mentor.

No two students are the same. Everyone has a different way of learning and experiencing, and everyone possesses unique sensitivities which, for me, are the reason I only ever work with 2 students at a time. Students are each on their own path of learning, and I love being able to tailor learning where possible, ensuring they learn in a gentle and supported way, within a relaxed inclusive space.

Students may:

· Want to learn Reiki purely for their own wellbeing and self-care

· Be ready to dedicate time to learn more about the spiritual aspect of Reiki; they perhaps were aware of this as a child and now it is their time to revisit and learn

· Already work in complementary therapy or another holistic / wellbeing / care role

· Want to become a Reiki practitioner, or even learn to work to the National Occupational Standards for the Professional Practice of Reiki and register with CNHC and GRCCT.

Delivering Reiki training has been, and continues to be, immense personal learning for me. Every student brings something to the party in terms of prior knowledge and experience, enabling them to make connections and, of course, the synchronicities between students who meet on the day to learn together can be off the scale!

What a joy to be in this role of continuous learning; adapting and refining courses to be the very best they can be for future students ♥️
