Todayâs news about care leavers is incredibly difficult to read.
Young people who have already experienced things no child should have to experience are dying at around 3 to 4 times the rate of other young people their age.
They were aged between 18 and 24. Some were just 18.
And what really stands out is what happens when they reach adulthood. The support, relationships and people around them can suddenly disappear, just at the point when they arguably need them most
We have just 5 weeks left on our petition calling for proper, ongoing support for young people leaving care. If we reach 10,000 signatures, the Government has to respond.
Please take a minute to sign it, and if you can, please share it too. We need as many people as possible to see this and understand why it matters.
No young person should leave care and suddenly feel like they have been left to figure life out completely on their own.
Please sign and share. â¤ď¸
