As a society, we celebrate successful male performers. We admire their talent, dedication, athleticism and achievements. We watch them on our screens, listen to their music and fill theatres to see them perform.
Yet some boys are still given the message that performing arts aren't really for them.
As someone who has spent years in this industry, I find that difficult to understand ๐ค

Some of the dancers, actors, singers and musicians I admire most are men.
Men who inspire audiences around the world all started somewhere.

The truth is that the arts offer so much more than a performance on a stage -
They teach discipline. Commitment. Resilience. Confidence. Communication. Teamwork.
They teach young people how to handle feedback, cope with disappointment, work towards long-term goals and keep showing up when things get tough.
These aren't performing skills.
They're life skills.
Mental health support matters.
Therapy helps.
Conversations help.

Because sometimes the greatest thing a child gains from the arts isn't a career.
It's a stronger sense of who they are.
