☀️ Staying Cool During the Heatwave ☀️

With the warmer weather here, we’re making sure all children stay safe, happy, and comfortable throughout the day 😊

We’ll be spending time outdoors in our shaded areas during the cooler parts of the morning, before the hottest part of the day. There will be plenty of water play, regular drinks, sun hats, and sun cream reminders too 🌳💧

During the hottest hours, we’ll move indoors for calm, chilled activities with fans on to help keep everyone cool and comfortable 🎨📚❄️

Please remember to send your child with:
☀️ A sun hat
☀️ Named water bottle
☀️ Lightweight clothing
☀️ Named sun cream

Thank you for helping us keep everyone safe in the sunshine! 🌞

Loose parts play is where creativity comes to life ✨

By offering children open-ended materials like pine cones, sticks, bamboo tongs, and sensory paper, it invites children to explore in a hands-on way. Whether they’re building structures with sticks, sorting and picking up pine cones or crinkling the sensory paper, there’s no single “correct” outcome—just creativity led by their own ideas. Even Teddy had to get involved!

This type of play is important because it supports key areas of development. Children build problem-solving skills as they figure out how to balance, stack, and design. They develop fine and gross motor skills through hands-on exploration, and strengthen communication and social skills when collaborating with others. Loose parts play also nurtures critical thinking, independence, and resilience as children test ideas, make mistakes, and try again.

A little adventure into the great outdoors 🌿🌳

Our little ones enjoyed a trip to the forest, where curiosity led the way!
From spotting tiny flowers to listening to the sounds of nature, jumping in puddles and some aeroplane spotting. Every moment was filled with wonder, learning, and laughter. Fresh air, muddy boots, and happy hearts — just the way we like it! ☺️

Our new sensory light box has definately been a hit with the little ones this week!
We explored the coloured shapes and had lots of fun matching them to the pictures. We stacked the colours to see how the light changed and talked about the colours being light and dark.

We celebrated Valentines Day last week 💕
The children loved using cookie cutters with the paint to make cards for their someone special. We talked about the colours and shapes how the paint made bubbles in the cutters.
The children also enjoyed lots of singing and dancing at our Valentines tea party and finished the day off by creating our very own little love bugs! ❤️
