Mental health support is moving closer to home. But what does that mean for you? 🌱

The Government has announced £343 million of investment to create 159 new NHS mental health facilities across England, with a greater emphasis on helping people access support earlier and within their own communities.

It's a significant announcement, but what could it mean for people living in Bedford Borough and Central Bedfordshire?

In our latest article, we look at:
- what's changing nationally
- what “closer to home” really means
- why prevention and earlier support are becoming increasingly important
- what's happening here in Bedfordshire
- where you can find mental health and wellbeing support now.

Most importantly, you don't have to wait until you're in crisis before looking after your mental health or asking for support.

Sometimes, taking a small first step can make a real difference. 💚

💙 Could you help us reach someone who needs this?

On Tuesday 21st July at 6:30pm, our final Mind Time mental wellbeing course of the academic year begins.

This free online course has already helped hundreds of people across Central Bedfordshire and Bedford Borough develop practical tools to manage stress, improve confidence, build resilience and take positive steps towards better mental wellbeing.

For many people, asking for support isn’t easy. They may never search for a course like this, but they might see a post shared by a friend, a local community group or an organisation they trust.

That’s why we’re asking for your help today.

If you run a local page or community group, or if you’re simply connected with people living in Central Bedfordshire or Bedford Borough, please consider sharing this post.

Your share could genuinely help someone discover support they didn’t know was available.

As another academic year draws to a close, we’ve been taking a moment to reflect.

Not on targets or statistics, but on people.

On the courage it takes to walk through our doors—or log on to Zoom—for the very first time.

On the conversations that stay with us long after a course has ended.

On the laughter we didn’t expect, the quiet moments of reflection, and the realisation that change is possible when people are given the space, time and support to begin.

This year has given us so many moments like these.

Before we pause for the summer, we’d simply like to say…

Thank you.
