What a privilege to spend the evening listening to Sir Mo Farah share his story. Hearing him speak so openly about his journey, the highs, the challenges, and what it took to get where he is, was incredibly inspiring.
It also made me reflect on my own journey.
I never made it beyond regional level in athletics. Looking back, I know I had potential, but it wasn’t something that was encouraged at home. As a young Indian girl, I was told it wasn’t appropriate to wear shorts or show my body, so sport was never seen as something I should seriously pursue.
Years later, life took me in a different direction, and I’m so grateful it did. Running my own sports massage business gave me the chance to work with runners who were chasing their own goals. Supporting their performance, helping them recover from injuries, and being a part of their journey was something I’ll always be proud of.
Although I have returned to a business management career, that chapter will always hold a special place in my heart. To everyone who trusted me to be part of your running journey, thank you.
Listening to Sir Mo reminded me just how much talent can flourish when it’s supported, encouraged, and believed in 🥹❤️.
