Jill Lorraine Pengelly aged 67 years from Colne passed away peacefully at her beloved home on Wednesday 13th May 2026.

A funeral service to celebrate Jill’s life will take place on Tuesday 2nd June 2026 at Burnley Crematorium 3.15pm

Jill was a treasured member of the community and her family.

She was the beloved mum to Darren and Shane, sister to Sharon, Melvyn, Jason and the late Diane and a treasured Aunty, cousin and devoted and dedicated friend to many.

Family flowers only by Jill’s request but donations in her memory are being accepted for Alkincoates Woodland Nature Reserve as this meant a lot to Jill.

Any cheque would need to be made payable to Alkincoates Woodland Nature Reserve Group.

Jill’s family have asked for you to come in bright colours and florals to celebrate her love of nature and reflect her vibrant personality.

The family warmly invite you to join them at Colne Cricket Club after the service.

Diane Susan Whitaker aged 73 years from Colne passed away peacefully at Blackburn Royal Hospital on Monday 12th May 2026 following a brave battle against cancer.

A funeral service to celebrate Diane's life will take place on Thursday 21st May 2026 at 1 pm at St.
Bartholomew's Parish Church Colne. Prior to a burial in Colne Cemetery at 2 pm.

Diane was the treasured partner to Malcom Terrence Johns and a loving and devoted Mum to Steven and Melissa.

She was the sister to Sharon, Melvyn, Jason and the late Jill and a treasured Aunty, Sister-in-law, cousin and devoted and dedicated friend to many people in the parish in need.

No flowers only by Diane's request but donations in her memory are being accepted for St. Barts Parish Church, to help support the good work that they do in the town.

Diane's family has asked to come dressed as you are no need for formal attire, it's more important you come to say your personal goodbyes than what clothes you wear.

Colne has lost a proud a dedicated Colner and member of their community but Heaven has gained an Angel.

Colin Bailey aged 68 years from Earby passed away suddenly in Airedale General Hospital on Friday 10th of April 2026 following an accident at his home earlier in the week.

A funeral service to celebrate Colin's life will take place on Friday 1st May 2026 at 1pm at All Saints Church Earby prior to a cremation at Skipton Crematorium at 2 pm.

Following the service at Skipton Colin's family invite you back to the Earby Conservative Club to continue to celebrate his life and raise a glass in his honour.

Colin was the treasured husband of the late Susan Bailey and a devoted and loving Dad to Craig and Shane.

He was also a much loved brother, brother in law, step Dad, Grandad Great Grandad and friend to many.

Many people will have worked with Colin throughout the years or maybe played football alongside him at Earby Town Football club or been coached by him.

Colin was one of Earby's legends and will be sadly missed.

Jim Simpson aged 84 years from Barnoldswick passed away peacefully at Dove Court Nursing Home Burnley on Friday 3rd April 2026 with his wife Jennifer by his side.

Following Jim's wishes a private cremation will take place at Skipton Crematorium on Thursday 16th April 2026.

Jennifer and all Jim's family ask you to remember the good times and happy memories of Jim privately in your own way and raise a glass to his memory on Thursday.

Betty Robinson aged 95 years from Earby passed away peacefully at Briercliffe Lodge Care Home Barnoldswick on Wednesday 11th March 2026.

A funeral service to celebrate Betty's long and amazing life will take place at Skipton Crematorium on Wednesday 1st April 2026 at 12 noon.

Family flowers only please but donations in lieu of flowers are being accepted for Briercliffe Lodge Care Home, as they looked after Betty with such care while she was in their care.

Betty was the devoted and loving widow of the late Alan Robinson and loving Mother to Trevor and Lynn, she was also a treasured Mother in Law, Grandma and Great Grandma and a friend to many.

Betty will be sadly missed by all who knew her, but she had such a long full life, and she will be taking her Pinny with her just in case.

Christopher Ian Mitchell aged 52 years formerly from Earby passed away suddenly at his home in Worsthorne on Friday 27th February 2026

A funeral service to celebrate Christopher's life will take place at Worsthorne Parish Church on Thursday 19th March 2026 at 1pm.

After the service Christopher's family invite you back to Burnley Football club to continue to celebrate 'Mitch's' life.

Although we are not conducting Mitch's funeral.
We have been asked by Maurice, Mitch's Dad to share his sad and sudden passing and to share funeral details with all his friends in Earby.

On the 3rd March 2026, Kathleen Walsh of Earby sadly passed away at Pendleside Hospice after a short illness.

She leaves behind Michael ‘ wally ‘ Walsh, Joanne Potter, granddaughter Shona Walsh , grandsons Sean Walsh , Ashley Walsh, Jared England and other beloved family.

A private funeral will be held next week as per Kathleen’s wishes but anyone wishing to make a donation in her memory are welcome to do so to raise funds for Pendleside Hospice.

Kathleen’s family would like to give a special mention to the incredible staff at Pendleside Hospice for the level of care and compassion they gave to the whole family.
